empath

The Most Important Practice For Empaths, Healers & Energy Workers (Way Better Than Shielding)

Let’s demystify the term “empaths” for all you empaths and “non-empaths” out there. Let’s get into the real deal of the common practice of “shielding” and what shielding is.

What’s An Empath?

An empath is a being who is sensitive to energy. They can sense what those around them, or close (in relationship) to them are thinking and feeling. They feel empathy for others to the point of “taking on” the emotions thoughts or feelings of others.

Who’s An Empath?

How do you know if you’re an empath? All beings are empaths. Those who are consciously aware and even practice tuning into their sensitivities will begin to classify themselves as “empaths”.

The Science Behind Empaths

Mirror Neurons & Empaths

The majority of people will understand and relate to what is meant by empathy; when you can feel what another is feeling based on them sharing the experience with you, being in your presence or watching someone go through the experience.

You can feel a spectrum of emotions including anger, joy, love, fear, sadness, etc.

In the brain, there are a class of neurons called mirror neurons.

Mirror neurons represent a distinctive class of neurons that discharge both when an individual executes a motor act and when he observes another individual performing the same or a similar motor act.”

They are responsible for action and intention understanding of both the self and others. They are also linked with self-awareness. Those with mirror neurons that are not functioning properly are known to display autistic qualities.

Those who classify themselves as empaths have a heightened level of function, and less filters, in their mirror neurons.

“In empaths, the brain’s mirror neuron system — a specialized group of cells that are responsible for compassion — are hyperactive.”

– Dr. Orloff – assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at UCLA and author of the book, The Empath’s Survival Guide

Quantum Entanglement & Empaths

Quantum entanglement is a quantum mechanical phenomenon in which the quantum states of two or more objects have to be described with reference to each other, even though the individual objects may be spatially separated.

This leads to correlations between observable physical properties of the systems.

Quantum entanglement studies have been done on 2 entangled particles. When the properties, such as the color or movement, of the object are affected, the other object updates the qualities within itself – with no physical stimulus at instanteneous speeds.

How do the quantum particles become entangled?

Entanglement occurs when the particles “know” each other by sharing an understanding of each other’s qualities.

Once the particles “know” each other, a state change in one will be reflected instantaneously in the other, no matter the distance or obstacles between them. That means you can change a quantum particle located on a beach in Los Angeles from red to blue and the entangled particle, located in a locked metal room in Paris, will also change from red to blue – instantly – only as a result of the state change of its entangled partner.

The principle of quantum entanglement is usually referred to as being unique to quantum science, but that is not the case. Entanglement occurs on a macro level as well.

Mirror neurons and quantum entanglement support the case that you can “feel” those you “know”, family, friends, loved ones, no matter the distance, instantly. This has been supported by cases of when you “know” something is wrong or happening with your loved one even though you are not physically present with them.

We’re all scientifically “empaths” although we have differing levels of awareness and development with this natural ability.

The Challenges Empaths Face

Having the ability to know and feel others can be like a super power sometimes, but other times it can feel like a curse.

Many empaths have the problem of “feeling” others too deeply to the point that it affects their daily lives. It can be draining or even handicapping if not properly understood and managed. This can lead to social anxiety, burnout, conflicting feelings, physical ailments, and confusion.

People who work with energy are aware of this ability and practice and refine it to do psychic and healing work.

Although pretty much all people employ this ability to varying degrees of proficiency when doing counseling, coaching, consulting, management, service, hospitality, and any people-facing work, learning the fundamentals of working with this energy can save you a lot of trouble and pain.

When you feel others, you won’t be bothered by the happiness and joy that you feel. In fact, you usually won’t even question whether this is your energy and emotion.

However, when you feel sadness and anger for “no reason”, it starts to get really disruptive. Some empaths will share the energy of others to the point where they take on the “undesirable” emotion. The other person will feel better while they will feel the undesirable emotion. Yeah, it sucks.

What’s Awesome About Being An Empath?

Although there are many challenges related to “taking on other people’s stuff” being an empath does actually give you some awesome power. An increased sense of intuition, compassion, creativity and a deeper sense of connection with others.

You can read people like books. To the point of practically reading their minds, or even reading them at a glance -Their eyes, their energy. You can better understand others and have a clear advantage in emotional intelligence. As long as you know how to regulate from your end.

You can feel into the energy of places, make decisions with an extra level of intuitive information, foresee future events, and do powerful energy work.

What Can An Empath Do To “Not Take On Other People’s Stuff”?

Some empaths go to an energy worker to help them “turn off” the ability, which tunes it down to a more manageable level.

The main tip I hear for empaths to employ is to “shield”. The practice of “shielding” involves creating a wall, bubble or 360-degree shield of energy around them. Especially around people. This has a decent amount of efficacy, but is not ideal. It’s also unnatural.

Remember – when increasing your proficiency and understanding of biological laws – follow nature. Nature flows, it doesn’t operate in a bubble by itself. It is an ecosystem.

Shielding is unnatural and moderately effective.

So am I suggesting not to shield from energies that are potentially debilitating and definately sucky?

Yep, that’s right!

Why, you ask?

Because I have something better for you.

My Story of Shielding Energy

I have been working with energy for decades. When I first became aware of my empath ability, it was usually terrible. I would feel everyone else’s pain and anger and I didn’t know that it was even happening.

I would just start feeling strong negative energy for no apparent reason and was completely blindsided. As I began to learn about energy, I was advised to “shield”.

For all of you who are new to “shielding” it’s an energetic technique where you use your mental intention to create an energetic field that separates you from others and their “undesirable” energies. You can create a light bubble, a fire field, a crystal wall, a blue space suit – whatever you feel like – and use it to keep you from taking on those energies from others.

From the very beginning the idea of shielding felt wrong to me. It was brash and rudimentary. Like painting with a handful of leaves instead of a paintbush. Hey, that’s the only metaphor that I could come up with, haha.

I spent years not shielding, and dealing with it, and shielding and feeling the “wrongness” and limitation of it. It kind of worked, but also felt obstructive and left me feeling disconnected. I didn’t feel like I was flowing with my environment. I was protecting from it. That’s fear-based. That’s bs. There had to be something better.

The Best Technique for Empaths that I’ve Found – Way Better than Shielding

The ability to do energy work including being an empath, healing and other psychic work has always been strong in me, and over the course of my life I’ve developed, deeped and fine tuned it. My capacity to understand and hold energy has grown profoundly. There was a time I was really getting waves of what I called, “interference”. Other people’s and places undesirable energies, other interdimensional beings & energies interfering.

Through some of the worst of it, I worked with a very powerful healer named Maria, who shared with me an intriguing proposition.

“Want to know how to stick your hand in the mud and come up clean?”

What she meant was going to places with undesirable energies or healing other people’s shit, without getting any undesirable energy on you.

To which I said,

“God, yes, please how??”

Simply said.

Be Love.

That’s it.

The frequency of love is like water to the oil of undesirable energies. It simply cannot stick, attach or be present. In fact, it overwhelms and transmutes lower frequency vibrations such as anger and fear. Without the bullshit of shielding.

This isn’t just “wooo”, it’s science, based on wave form frequencies.

It follows scientific natural law. And decision making based on love, not fear. This allows you to show up in your power, as one of the most powerful known versions of yourself – LOVE.

How to Perform the Practice in 3 Easy Steps

  1. Relax your body and begin to visualize breathing through your heart.
  2. Begin to feel the emotion of love and feel the energy of love expand as far as you want. Over time you will develop your preference.
  3. Visualize this energy as light, liquid gold, whatever you want.

The big difference with with technique and shielding is that there is no barrier, no wall. It is more like an energetic overflow that causes the disintegration or transmutation of any undesirable energy fields. They simply cannot exist in this energy.

Benefits of Empath Love Overflow Practice

I’m just going to call it Empath Love Overflow Practice because I have no other name for it.

It pretty much works like a sun except it’s the anahilalation of energy with love, not fire. Anything that gets close to it ceases to exist as it was or turns away by natural law.

This practice helps with:

  • Healing Energy Work
  • Manifestation
  • Chronic Fatigue
  • Possession and Spiritual Disruption
  • Improves Your Relationships, Including Your Relationship With Self
  • Improves Your Emotions
  • Improves Every Element of your Life
  • Takes No Extra Time
  • No Shielding 😎
  • Connects You to Your Unlimited Source Energy, & Intuition

It’s pretty simple, although it requires focused attention.

If you’re having a tough day and simply don’t feel the energy of “love” that day you can always fall back on shielding or leave the area to go be alone and/or somewhere in nature.

But remember,

You are not disconnected from your environment. You are your environment. That is like disconnecting from the self. You are all the forces including the most powerful force, LOVE. You are as safe as you know you are.

You are ALL.

When you CHOOSE LOVE it feels better.

There are many people who are strong in their energetic abilities and don’t necessarily want to practice healing & energy arts. They just want to be proficient human beings.

If you need any help at all or want to fine-tune to an advanced level, reach out to me jacqueline@consciousnessliberty.com. Happy to help with this and other energetic abilities you want to fine-tune.

I love helping skeptical, energetically aware people navigate and leverage their abilities and use these (and many more) tools to understand and integrate their energetic awareness and turn their “curse” into a “superpower”.

Being an aware empath can suck, but this is a game-changer. You got this!

Let me know in the comments how it works for you! Seriously. Because it changed my life – and I hope it does for you too!

Hard Work is Outdated. How to Hack Your Biology to Work Smart

Have you noticed that your best work and best ideas come to you when you’re inspired, when you’re flowing?

The world is changing. The way we used to think and work as a collective is shifting.

Industries are disrupting the status quo. What was once the taxi industry has been disrupted by companies like Uber. The hotel industry has been disrupted by Airbnb and hard work has been disrupted by smart work – by hacking. Biohacking, lifehacking, flow hacking and more.

“Hard work, forcing and pushing are no longer working like they used to. We are evolving into a smarter way of working by better understanding and leveraging our biology to compliment our outcomes.”

– Consciousness Liberty

Today’s “work” is about flow, inspiration and alignment. Being drawn, compelled, CALLED to create. As we experience the massively productive, fun and brilliant work created in flow and inspiration, we also want to learn to harness its replication.

What is meant by “Hard Work”?

Let’s get the semantics out of the way to avoid confusion. What is “hard work”? First of all, it has nothing to do with the TYPE of work you do. Dirty work vs. clean work, white or blue collar, college degree or not, business, hobby or sport.

Mike Rowe, “Dirty Jobs” show host, equates “hard work” to trades and dirty jobs, which can be very lucrative, fulfilling and fun. Props to Mike for shining the spotlight on trades work and crushing the stigma that one type of work is better than another! “Getting your hands dirty” work is NOT what we’re talking about here.

It’s about the WAY you work, the WHY of your work and the VALUE that it adds to your lives and others.

On the same page? Great, read on.

Smart work asks, how optimal is it? Is it aligned with your main objective? Is it serving you or making you stressed and ill? Are you able to enjoy your work and your life or are you grinding to buy things you don’t even have time to use or enjoy?

Smart work is NOT coasting. It’s not working halfheartedly.

Smart work is courageous, persistent, resilient, resourceful, passionate, focused, results-driven.

Smart work is NOT HARD, not forceful, not burning out, not unsustainable, not illness provoking.

Got it?

Good!

What is Flow?

Flow is the holy grail of working smart.

“Researchers describe flow as a unique state of concentration in which action seems to be effortless. Whether painting, writing, planning, scheming, inventing or running a 10K, you feel alert, unself-conscious and totally absorbed in the present moment.

Flow is a state entered when you are performing at your peak or stretching beyond former limits. Emotions are positive and energized, yet your attention is so focused on the task at hand that you may not be aware of feelings at all except in retrospect. Everything but the task is forgotten—time, surroundings, even yourself. Awareness and action become one.”

So, what’s the key to working smart? How do we turn working hard into working smart?

Here are some techniques to help you work smarter. Green words highlight specific biohacking tips.

1. Have a purpose.

Identify your WHY, goal, or intention to achieve something worthwhile. It doesn’t need to be a big deal, just something worth your time. Your brain is a meaning-making machine and having a purpose gives you meaning, which shapes identity. Identity precedes your actions.

How do you find that purpose? Listen to your heart, your higher self and intuition. Of course, you can use your intuition at any point in the process. Learning to follow your heart instead of your head saves you tons of hard work for something you never really wanted in the first place.

2. Step fully into now.

Ground, be aware, mindful, present. Get fully into your body. You’ll know your there when you experience clarity. Try bringing your attention and awareness right behind your eyes. Increase your sensory attention. Focus on how things taste, smell, feel, etc.

This brings you back into your place of power, where you can have more influence on the world around you. Your presence is better and people will listen to your ideas and respect the energy you bring to the moment.

Mindfulness and being in present awareness increases mental flexibility and the ability to regulate behavior, avoid knee jerk reactions, resist distractions and improves decision making.

Grounding practice can help you be in the moment, decrease stress, decrease inflammation and increase blood flow.

“Neuroscientists have also shown that practicing mindfulness affects brain areas related to perception, body awareness, pain tolerance, emotion regulation, introspection, complex thinking, and sense of self.”

3. Align your energy to your work.

Ensure you have aligned your environment and yourself for the task at hand. Set up a workspace, a designated time or day, and/or a trigger. Think of your mindset when you’re in bed, when your in your office or workspace, when you’re at the gym, a nice restaurant, or at a concert. All different energies.

Try having a fine dining experience in a construction site or a gym. Not as conducive as a low-lit, beautiful atmosphere, huh?

You get the idea. If you want a detailed checklist, you can find it here.

4. Get inspired.

Music is one of the biggest ways I’ve found personally to quickly and effectively shift mood. At a close second are exercise and movement. When you move and flow the energy in your body, the thoughts in your body also flow and great ideas start pouring in.

Unexpected bonuses to shift energy include showering, when you’re about to fall asleep, and in relaxed states.

In the book, Stealing Fire, Steven Kotler wrote about the altered-states economy. What we do and consume to shift our states,

Here’s a breakdown for how to shift your states:

  • Drugs – pain drugs, coffee, alcohol, MDMA.
  • Media – video games, virtual reality, music, porn.
  • Recreation – yoga, meditation, adventure travel, gambling.
  • Personal growth – life coaches, self-help, business coaches, retreats.

Get into the habit or carrying a little pen and paper or use your phone’s notes to capture those inspiring ideas in the moment.

No, you won’t remember them later, so write them down. Especially the ones you have before drifting off to sleep.

5. Move your body.

This deserves its own category because there is more to moving your body than exercise. Use your body to change your energy flow. You can use exercise, body language, posture, stretching and movement to change your chemistry, emotions and consequently your thoughts.

If you are engaged in high-energy exercise, your brain physicaly cannot process depression and high-intensity activity at the same time.

Posturing, or getting into the posture of, what you want to achieve also triggers your brain to become that which you are posturing in.

A study published in the journal Psychological Science in 2010, concluded that when people sat or stood in expansive poses for just one minute, they felt more powerful and in charge, and their body chemicals changed. They had more testosterone and less cortisol, the stress hormone.

“By simply changing physical posture, an individual prepares his or her mental and physiological systems to endure difficult and stressful situations.”

– Psychological Science, journal, 2010

“Just sitting up straight, a simple power pose, may increase self-confidence.”

European Journal of Social Psychology, 2009

Some research shows that body posture also affects persistence when dealing with difficult tasks. This also works with subtle movements such as facial expressions.

Having good posture contributes to keep the body in good health, free from pain, and digesting properly.

6. Leverage NLP & habitry by using triggers.

There is an entire part of your brain that’s wired to function based on habit.

Habits are based on triggers. Time, place song, sensation, words, scents are all triggers. Use these to your advantage.

For example, if you want to instantly click into a mode, such as “workout mode” – set a trigger to shift the moment you step foot into the gym. The first time you do it, you’ll feel the resistance. Over time it will become automatic – like those secret trigger words for international assassin spies – aaaanyway – you know what I mean.

7. Get in flow.

Flow is the holy grail of working smart and takes inspiration to the next level. That is what is going to create states of flow, altered states and the kind of work when you are just crushing it and your on fire! Ideas and pouring in and your excited and completely immersed.

Biologically speaking, flow happens on the edge of alpha and theta, at around 8 Hz. When your brainwaves are in theta, your brain is open to “gamma spikes” the brainwave frequency that is associated with “Ah-ha” moments.

Want to know how your brain is in theta? Click here to learn more about the characteristics of a theta mindset.

Or, you can track your brainwaves with a Muse headset and a 3rd party app called, Mind Monitor. If you haven’t checked out Mind Monitor, I recommend it. It will show you your brain’s wavelength feedback in real-time so you can direct them.

One of the foremost authorities on flow, Steven Kotler, describes it as having the subjective characteristics, STER.

  • S: Selflessness – Perception of self disappears and you are absorbed in the process.
  • T: Timelessness -Prefrontal cortex deactivates and time dilates or contracts.
  • E: Effortlessness – Brain is connected,
  • R: Richness – Attention is strong in the present moment and pattern rec is amplified. Productivity and creativity increase.

How to get into flow:

  • Focus
  • Clear goals
  • Uninterrupted
  • The challenge/skills ratio is right. (See graph below)
  • Triggers
  • Passion /purpose
  • Risk – Drives focus, which drives flow.
  • Autonomy
  • Novelty
  • Complexity
  • Unpredictability
  • Deep embodiment
  • Immediate feedback
  • Creativity/ pattern recognition
– prototypr.io

Remember, flow is universal. It’s available to everyone at any time provided the right conditions are met.

8. Get real with yourself.

What do you value? What is your main objective? How are these activities getting you closer to your main objective? What is keeping you from your main objective?

Identify your limiting and conflicting beliefs. You’ll know what these are because you will feel conflicted or uneasy when you affirm your goal. This requires hard questions and hard choices, not hard work.

If you want some help identifying and breaking through limiting or conflicting beliefs get in touch with me, Jacqueline@consciousnessliberty.com. I help my clients overcome non-serving beliefs, blind spots and self-sabotage and find clarity and fulfillment. You can find out more here.

9. Optimize, delegate or eliminate what is keeping you from your goal.

Outsource what’s slowing you down and create a “do not do” list of things that waste your time. A big part of productivity, efficiency and working smart is not only what you do, but what you don’t do.

You can optimize your time by batching similar tasks, planning your day, (or week) ahead of time, prioritizing (top 1-3 goals for the day) and by assigning a time to each task.

10. Immerse yourself.

Once you’re present and inspired, begin to surround yourself with anything that promotes it. For example, create an environment that supports the activity, surround yourself with people that promote the activity and begin to read about listen to talk about anything that is related to the activity.

Conversely, stay away from the opposite of that. 😂 Nuff said.

11. Give it some time.

If you’re not fully inspired it may take some time to get into flow. Keep at it. Keep doing what you do, keep working at it and practicing the steps above. Soon you’ll be aligned and flowing. If it doesn’t happen perfectly the first time, do it again and again. It will become easier. Your biology is designed to take in what you repeat. Hack it wisely.

12. Focus on results, not actions.

One critical component to working smart is taking the time to reflect on what you are doing. Is this work getting you closer to your main dreams and goals, or are you “always busy” and going in circles?

What’s working? What’s not working?

Examine, adjust, retest, reflect.

Smart workers know that it’s about the quality of the output, not the quantity of input, that makes a difference.

Slow down to speed up my friend.

13. Schedule in your downtime.

If you think you can grind, power through and energy drink yourself to your goals, you’re working hard, not smart and you’re missing the big picture. There is a universal law of duality that we operate in as human beings. That which comes up, goes down.

Learn it, leverage it.

Understand the importance of rest and leverage that rest to recharge and come back stronger. Step away from work to enjoy doing nothing, reflection, partying, hanging out, whatever.

This creates energetic contrast which is the natural rhythm or pedulumn swing of life.

Speaking of enjoyment…

14. Enjoy yourself & the journey.

Embrace the journey. Growth can be painful, so when you are creating your “work smart” plan, learning, or expanding your skillset your brain will attempt to fight you, distract you and stop you to “keep you safe”. So many people think the reward and pleasure is in the destination, but if you learn to train your brain to enjoy the journey, you will be happier and more productive along the way. It’s called cultivating a growth mindset.

Remember that when you are creating something it takes energy input, and you want to input the right energy of passion, enjoyment and inspiration. Not stress, pressure and force.

Therefore…

Remember, use power not force. Work smart.

There is a current of lifeforce energy present in all things. When bringing something into being, you don’t want to go up against the current. Understand this flow in life and in yourself and leverage it.

Use the techniques above, enjoy your time, grow as a person, contribute to others. The energy present when you create is what you infuse into your creations.

Here’s to working smart. To have a blast while growing as a person. Developing your unique gifts and contributing to others.

Let’s evolve the work paradigm together.

Much love!

Beyond the 7 Chakras: Activating the 3 Dantian Energy Centers for Inner Alchemy

It’s time to get familiar with your 3 divine energetic storehouses – your 3 dantian energy centers. If you don’t know what a dantain is, check out this post where I deep dive into the lower dantian, or the most commonly referred to energy storehouse. The lower dantian is the original source of energy in the body. Working with your lower dantian allows you to cultivate the energy to continue working with your upper 2 dantians.

The lower dantain is the foundation from which energy work stems, and understanding these energies illuminates your awareness of your ability to influence your own energy, vitality, and power.

So let’s start with a brief overview of the 3 dantians so you can get a better picture of what we’re working with.

The 3 Dantians

You have 3 dantian energy reservoirs in your body. Each dantian is associated with a type of energy in the body.

– Source: https://taichibasics.com/three-dantians/

The Lower Dantian

  • Location: The lower dantian is located about 2-3 finger-widths below the navel.
  • Energy Signature: Jing – vital essence, seed.
  • Function: The lower dantian is the original source of energy. It is the center of gravity in the body, both bio energetically and biomechanically. It is also the center of instinct and intuition.

The Middle Dantian

  • Location: The middle dantian is located in the heart center area in the center of the body at that height.
  • Energy Signature: Qi – vitality, subtle breath
  • Function: Associated with respiration and the health of the inner organs, physically manifesting as proper circulation of oxygen and blood, helping to oxygenate and detoxify the body. In Daoist inner alchemy, it is referred to as the area where qi is refined to shen energy. It is also the center of emotion.

The Upper Dantian

  • Location: – The upper dantian is located in the forehead area and the middle of the head at that height.
  • Energy Signature: Shen – spirit, soul, mind, supernatural being
  • Function: Energy of mind and spirit. Energy of intention, and mental abilities. This datian is also referred to as the third eye, which provides wisdom and clarity. It is also known as the area that transmutes shen energy into “wu wei”, the energy of spontaneity, emptiness, or pure potentiality.

The 3 Treasures (San Bao)

In traditional Chinese medicine, the 3 dantians are referred to as the 3 Treasures or San Bao. Note, the concept of the 3 Treasures varies across spiritual practices such as Buddhism, Taoism, Jainism, Traditional Chinese Medicine and more.

In this article, we are referring to the 3 Treasures as understood in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). In TCM, the 3 treasures are the 3 essential energies sustaining human life. They are Jing, Qi and Shen.

  • Shen – Spirit, soul, mind, supernatural being. Has a fiery quality and associated with consciousness. Stored in the upper dantain.
  • Qi – Vitality, subtle breath. It is both matter and energy and keeps them together. Has a neutral quality and associated with feeling “alive”. Stored in the middle dantain.
  • Jing – Vital essence, seed. Has an earthy quality and associated with sexual energy. Stored in the lower dantian.

BONUS: There is another energy that emanates from Source

  • Wu Wei or Wuji – Primordial universe energy. It is infinite, limitless and ultimate. It has an emptiness or nothingness quality and infinite potential.

The 3 Dantains and the Practice of Energy work

Your 3 dantians are essential for various practices such as Qi Gong, dance, martial arts, and healing arts.

San Bao (3 Treasures) in Neidan (Daoist Alchemy)

In Neidan (Daoist inner alchemy), the 3 dantians are known as the 3 Treasures. They are cultivated to improve physical, emotional and mental health, and increase vitality and longevity. And in some cases to achieve immortality itself.

There are many practices in Neidan, but the simple, natural process of inner transmutation of energy is

Wuji (from source) > transmutes into Shen in the upper dantian >
Shen flows down to the middle dantian and transmutes into Qi>
Qi flows down to the lower dantian and transmutes into Jing.

Traning in Neidan allows one to transmute up from the lower dantain. Jing > Qi > Shen – or from lower to higher energies – in addition to the natural downward flow from higher to lower energies.

How Do The 3 Dantaians Comparare to the 7 Chakras?

The study of the chakras comes from the Ancient Hindu science of life, Ayurveda. Buddhists also follow the chakra system. Both Hindu and Buddhist sacred texts refer to the 3 dantains as the Granthi.

“The Granthi are 3 energetic or psychic knots that need to be untied, unwound and unbound before awakening can occur.”

– Darren Orr

The chakras and dantians are individual systems within the energetic matrix of the body.

Both the chakras and the dantians emanate from the TaiJi pole, or the core energetic structure in the body.

“To use a metaphor, the chakras are like geysers that connect the external Earth to the internal, the dantiens are the deep internal reservoirs or aquifers and the Tai ji pole is the emanating source.”

– Darren Orr

The chakras, dantians, and general energetic matrix are designed to work harmoniously – interwoven, interdependent and complementary.

How Do The 3 Dantians Comparare to the Body Meridians?

The body’s energy flows through specific channels that have been studied and recorded in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The meridians function like rivers of energy while the dantians are the reservoirs of energy.

Activating the 3 Dantians

There are many practices to activate the 3 dantians and they are include various techniques of breathing, intention, movement and posture. The correct posture involves forming a straight line from the upper, middle and lower dantians. Remember: energy follows intention.

Dantian Breathing Exercise

This is a fundamental dantain breathing practice used to cultivate energy into your dantians.

  1. You can start seated or standing. Keep your back straight and imagine a straight line coming down from your upper dantian to your middle dantian, all the way down to your lower dantian.
  2. Place your hands on your lower abdomen where your lower dantian is located.
  3. Breathe in and imagine drawing pure, bright, clean energy into your lower dantian. Feel your lower belly expand.
  4. Breathe out and imagine sending the energy out into the universe, but keep some of the energy that you have drawn circling in your lower dantain.
  5. Repeat at least 3 times for your lower dantain.
  6. Repeat this process for your middle dantian at least 3 times and for your upper dantian at least 3 times.
  7. Notice the energy cultivating and circulating in each dantian and the energetic flow connecting the three and flowing throughout your body.

Transmuting Energy from Your Lower Dantian to the Middle and Upper

When your working with your dantian energy, start with your lower dantian and once it is full of energy, you can direct the overflow of this energy upwards towards your middle dantian.

Breathe from your middle dantain and imagine both reservoirs of energy, connected and filling up with energy. Then you can continue to direct the energy upward into your upper daintain. Imagine it filling up with energy

Just learning about your dantians, their funcion and their potential is empowering. I invite you to incorporate them into your spiritual practice or your can take it one step further by continuing to study Neidan (Taoist Alchemy).

Would love to hear about your experience with the dantain energy centers.

Here’s to your energy, vitality and your immortality.

5 Surprisingly Damaging Spiritual Effects of Alcohol

It’s time to REALLY get informed about drinking.

I mean beyond the basics of damaging pretty much all of our organs. And the violence and crime that comes with it.

What does alcohol do to our spirits?

The majority of people understand that alcohol is damaging to the body; but do they know how it affects them spiritually and energetically?

More and more people are becoming aware of their own energy, “vibe”, intuition, spirits, souls, higher-selves etc.

So, what happens to your energy and spirit when you drink alcohol?

But first,

Why do we drink alcohol, anyway?

Well, first of all, it’s kind of just there. It’s a social lubricant, It helps us relax, relate, and enjoy. We like its consciousness alternating effects to help us “escape”, “distract” and “let go”.

It releases inhibitions and aspects of ourselves that we usually keep tucked away. So much is socially forgiven after saying that line, “I was drunk”.

And… why is it there? Well, first off, because it’s ridiculously profitable.

And also because:

  1. It’s a state changer and state changers have been high in demand and notably profitable throughout history.
  2. It’s deeply tied to our social acceptance channel, which is closely tied to our survival channel.
  3. Society and marketing portray it in a positive and glamourous light.
  4. We’re bored and it gives us something to do. (2020 anyone?)
  5. And… because sometimes it tastes really good when done well.

What does it do to our bodies?

Alcohol, no surprise, creates a host of health problems. Most of which you’re probably already aware of. This infographic does a pretty good job of providing the basics.

Short term effects of alcohol impair judgement, coordination, and strain and harm the body’s organs, muscles, bones and nerves.

Long term effects include, diminished gray matter and white matter in the brain, memory loss, alcoholic hepatitis, cirrhosis, cancer, high blood pressure, stroke, weight gain, irregular heartbeat, digestive issues and hinders new brain cell growth.

Oh yeah and then there are the..

Psychological Effects of Alcohol

Alcohol-induced psychiatric syndromes include depression, anxiety disorder, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and more.

Yeah but,

Can alcohol also be good for us?

Studies show that drinking in moderation can have beneficial effects on your circulation due to it raising your HDL, “good” cholesterol, levels. Heavy drinking, on the other hand, boosts your risk of heart disease. Alchohol can also help you be more social, and being social is shown to have emotional and psychological benefits.

Alcohol has also been known to help reduce gallstones, reduce type 2 diabetes, increase libido, help decrease tension (at least momentarily and compounded with the social element).

It can also put enough stress on the cells to toughen them up. The trick is finding that sweet spot… which is not always easy.

“Small amounts of alcohol might, in effect, make brain cells more fit. Alcohol in moderate amounts stresses cells and thus toughens them up to cope with major stresses down the road that could cause dementia.”

– Edward J. Neafsey, Study on Alcohol and Dementia published by the journal Neuropsychiatric Disease and Treatment

Physically speaking, there are some good benefits to drinking in moderation that keep us coming back for more.

But how does our spirituality mix with spirits?

This is where it gets interesting.

What does alcohol do to our spirits?

If you do any type of spiritual work, chances on you’ve noticed an increased sensitivity to alochol and stumbled upon some of the following effects.

As you become more sensitive to energy, you can actually feel the way your energy signature shifts or becomes inhibited.

As I’ve evolved spiritually, my tolerance for alcohol has taken a sharp turn downwards. What used to be 2-4 drinks on a weekend night with a mild hangover turned into 1 drink and feeling absolutely horrible the next day. Or having 2 drinks and getting sick while still “enjoying” my second.

What’s going on?

Well one day I got my first clue. My friend, a world-renowned energy worker, told me, “Jacqueline, you have the ability to channel, (as in energies, entities) and when you drink alcohol those channels open.”

It clicked. All of a sudden I realized why I didn’t feel myself after a night of drinking at a dive bar.

It was like leaving your home front door open. And maybe if you’re fucked up enough, leaving your house and going for a joy ride while leaving your home doors and windows wide open.

Anything and everything is free to come into your house, (body) metaphorically speaking. Dirt, leaves, critters, people, etc.

Alcohol & Alchemy

In chemical alchemy, alcohol is known as an extractor or separator of the essence from the object. Alcohol does the same to the human body, extracting the essence, or soul, from the body.

When the vibration of the human body becomes too low and the toxicity too high due to alcohol, the soul exits the body and hovers around it. This correlates to being “blackout drunk” and makes us more vulnerable to spirit attachments and low-frequency vibration intrusion.

Etymologically, the word, “alcohol” is derived from the Arabic word, “al-kuhl” which means, “body eating spirit”.

“Once through a spiritual vision, I could observe a crowded club. I noticed dark and evil entities hovering over the club, keeping an eye over the people enjoying inside.

Slowly as few people got incredibly drunk, I saw their souls depart their bodies, linked through a thread, as the intoxication made them uncomfortable. Evil spirits took overseeing empty vessels resulting in immoral acts. This is what is happening when someone has what we refer to as a ‘blackout.’

Having abilities of clairvoyance, empath, and channeling, I can see spirits since my childhood. Many times I have seen malevolent entities surrounding drunk people.

These people often have a crazed, dark look in their eyes that shows they are not themselves anymore.

-Jason Christoff

So, here’s the “Spiritual Effects of Alcohol” shortlist:

1. Alcohol Lowers your Vibration

When you start drinking it relaxes you, which makes you feel like your energy is flowing better. In fact, alcohol poisons your body, lowers your frequency and jams up your energy.

“Because here’s what we all know: each time you drink alcohol, your vibration drops.

It can take up to ten days to restore the point of vibration you’re at before you drink.”

– Melanie Beckler

2. Alcohol Creates Holes in Your Aura

Your aura is an energetic field that surrounds your body; kind of like a force field. It keeps other energies at bay, that is, unless you have holes or tears.

You create holes in your aura by disrupting your energies in various ways through negative thinking, traumas, giving up your power, and consuming alcohol or drugs because they destabilize the vibrational system.

3. Alcohol Interferes with Psychic Abilities

Alcohol has been known to block psychic abilities and create a haze and murkiness from the person who is being “read” by the psychic. The connection is disrupted between the two people and their spirits. It’s recommended to abstain from drinking before doing any psychic work.

4. Alcohol Makes You Susceptible to Entities/ Energies

Yeah cool, no big deal. You may just take on destructive and depressing energies or unserving and malicious entities. How’s that for taking someone home with you from the bar?

After drinking, you may notice that, besides your hangover, you’re upset for no reason, irritable, apathetic, depressed, self-destructive or just don’t feel like yourself.

5. Alcohol Throws Your Chakras off Balance

Alcohol disrupts your energetic field and that includes your main seven chakras, creating an energetic imbalance in your body, mind and spirit that will take some time and attention to repair.

Alcohol Disrupts Your Spiritual Progress as a Whole

As you evolve in your spiritual journey and expand your spiritual capacity, you’ll have more conscious awareness of your energy. You’ll feel a shift in the “hum” or “buzz” of your energy even before the hangover sets in. Alcohol lowers your vibration due to its toxic nature.

And here’s the kicker.

Expanded spiritual awareness and capability is polarized in both a positive and negative direction.

Know this and save yourself a lot of trouble going forward.

“The more man knows, the more he is responsible for, and a person with the knowledge of Spiritual Law which he does not practice suffers greatly in consequence.”

– Florence Scovel Shinn

Not all spiritual beings go to the temple to pray.

YOU are the temple.

“Take care of your body temple, for the energy of the entire universe flows through it.”

Apply the Law of Duality & Get Anything You Want

“All you judge is the comparison.”

– Consciousness Liberty

Human existence is dualistic.

This means we make sense of our world by comparing one thing to another. In order to “know” one thing as a human, you must “know” its other side.

For example, most people perceive hot and cold two opposite things. They are actually the same thing. The same spectrum. 2 sides of the same coin.

The “coin” is the spectrum.

Although they are on the same line, they are on different sides of the spectrum, which is why we perceive them as opposites.

This law is known as Principle IV: The Principle of Polarity

“Everything is Dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled.”

– The Kybalion

This principle embodies the truth that everything is dual, polar and has an opposite. We can know something by comparing it to something else. These “opposites” are varying degrees of the same thing, located on the same scale, on the same line.

In human existence, what you judge as being opposites are actually variations of the same thing.

So in order to “know” one, or to “get closer” to one, you “know the other”. That contrast is what allows you to “see” it.

You cannot know one without knowing the other.

This is Universal Law as explained in the Hermetic text, the Kybalion.

and this law operates in dualistic consciousness – A.K.A human existence.

NOTE: Not all consciousness states are dualistic. Within unity consciousness, there is no good and bad, no hot and cold, no there or here, no right now or later.

They ARE.

And many times, they ARE BOTH – and NEITHER.

Ok, back to the dualistic human experience.

So here’s where it gets awesome because it’s how you get everything you want.

It works like this:

  • To get something you give it away.
  • To take control you give up control.
  • To know what you want you must know what you don’t want.
  • To gain freedom you must discipline yourself

Can’t I just get the thing I want, instead of looking for it’s opposite?

Naturally, if you want something you just go and get it.

But for all the things that you believe are harder to attain or you do not “know” (a.k.a have not experienced), you may find it hard to get for 2 reasons.

  1. The law of attraction, a.k.a, Principle I: The Principle of Mentalism. You perpetually create a state of want which creates a state of want, which creates a state of want, causing more want to appear until you start to seriously doubt yourself in it’s attainment. #Manifesationtroubleshooting 😛
  2. You will not be able to see it when you have it. You will not know it, feel it and thereby it goes undetected by you.

So that’s the human way of doing things…

Then there’s the energy alchemist way, using applied knowledge to your benefits to shortcut the process. That’s why we’re here my friend. 😉

Think of it as an operating manual to the multi universal being that you are.

Why Does it Work?

Once you understand that these “seemingly opposites” lie on the same line of a spectrum, the scale can be easily adjusted from, metaphorically speaking, left to right, right to left. Take hold and cold, and dull and sharp. You can slide from cold into hot, but you cannot slide from cold into sharp. That is a different line. You have the ability to transmute sadness to happiness. To go from scattered to focused.

The Law of Duality (Principle of Polarity) works hand in hand with all the universal principles, as shown with the law of attraction, Principle l: The principle of mentalism. It also works very closely with principle V.

Principle V: The Principle of Rhythm

“Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates.”

-The Kybalion

What it is:

This principle embodies the truth that in everything there is manifested a measured motion, to and fro; a flow and inflow, backward and forward. It is a pendulum-like movement between the two poles which exist in accordance with the Principle of Polarity described a moment ago.

We see and understand the rise-and-fall behavior of these energy waves that permeate our existence.

Rhythm

So, how do I get to the polar opposite?

When you are going through the darkest of times you can realize that you are on the same spectrum of the best times of your life.

You can learn to navigate that line and experience it’s polar “opposite”.

The secret is not to force it. Let everything have it’s time, as it has it’s purpose and to rest in the certainty that “what goes up will go down” and vice-versa.

It’s Universal law and it’s science.

So check out the rise and fall of those waves. That same “up and down” works closely with Principle III: Th Principle of Vibration, which states that everything vibrates and everything is in constant motion.

Therefore, when you “know” something such as pain, that will naturally swing to pleasure because that swing is a natural physical law.

So take temperature as an example. If you are sort of warm and put your hands in hot water (not burning), you feel more warmth. But, if you hands are freezing and you put your hands in hot water your feel much more contrast, more extreme, more heat.

And it gets better…

If you “know” or experience an extreme polarity upon the same line, you can enhance your capacity for experience of the other pole.

You know the “hit rock bottom” just before you “make it big” scenario?

Or the people who have deep personal struggles expand their capacity for love and compassion.

How do I know what is on the same spectrum?

Some are obvious, cold and hot, black and white, some not so obvious at first glance – apathy and love, depression and motivation. (Btw, if you keep going towards the more extreme of motivation you get inspiration.)

– Consciousness Liberty

Many “not so obvious at first” spectrums I found through experience. Once you have the awareness to look out for them, you will find what is true for you. Truth is personal, not universal.

So now you know how to leverage the Law of Duality.

Be a giver, be a lover, be yourself. And get anything you want. 😉

Accessing the Higher Superconscious State (9 Advanced Techniques)

Warning. These practices are advanced. Consciousness Liberty and its associates take no responsibility for any effects you may experience or any decisions you make. All responsibility is taken by the practicer. Use with caution at your own discretion.

Why Access Superconsciousness?

The superconscious state of being is accessed and used for optimal human performance including

  • Inspiration
  • Genius level thinking
  • Flow state
  • Brilliant ideas
  • Operating from love and absence of fear
  • Clearer or enhanced perception
  • Extrasensory perception
  • A broader perspective that one of the “ego” self
  • A high confidence level
  • Peacefulness
  • Compassion

If you are just beginning to access the superconscious state, I recommend you start here with Accessing the Superconscious State (For Beginners)

In my previous post of superconsciousness, we discussed techniques to access the lower levels of the superconscious state which include intuitive guidance, flow state, genius-level thinking and receiving or “downloading” of ideas.

There are 2 versions of Superconsciousness that we are training to access. The lower state and higher state.

  • Lower state: love based frequencies, intuition, amazing ideas.
  • Higher state: True experience of wholeness and transcending the ego identity into a consciousness that sees beyond personal identity with the human “self”.

Here were are going to cover how to access the higher superconscious state.

The higher state of superconsciousness is naturally more removed in vibration from usual human consciousness, so it takes more practice to maintain these superconsciousness vibrations while going about your human day.

The higher levels of superconsciousness include cosmic and unity consciousness. The main purpose of accessing this level of superconsciousness is to create a reference point and broaden your perspective.

Aaaannddd…. It has the potential to change your life.

The mind, once expanded to the dimensions of larger ideas, never returns to its original size.”

– Oliver Wendell Holmes

Accessing the Higher Levels of Superconsciousness

Note, some of these are for informational purposes only. Those extraordinary experiences can leave you thinking, “What the f:)ck just happened?”. This is meant to explain those types of experiences.

Some of these cannot/should not be replicated at will. (Note: #3 & 4) or are meant to proceed only with caution at your own discretion. (Note: #2 & 5)

1. Transcendental Meditation

We’ll start with a foundational practice for accessing superconsciousness – Transcendental meditation.

I’ve tried a range of meditation practices. None have allowed this state of higher consciousness with the exception of transcendental meditation.

In transcendental meditation, your awareness expands beyond the “self” and into the expanded awareness of just “consciousness” or “pure awareness”.

Begin by focusing on something: your breath, a candle flame, a mantra, a certain sound, etc. until no new thoughts come to mind. Eventually, you will experience “the gap” or feelings outside of your body and into Unity or Cosmic consciousness. You will be in lambda or epsilon brainwave states and feel a sense of unity with all, blissfulness, peacefulness, love and absence of fear accompanied by a “knowingness” and clarity.

To achieve results, create a consistent daily practice. Meditation practice is like working out your muscles. The consistency of training creates the results – unless you have a Kensho or Satori experience described in #3.

Note: Do not get discouraged if you don’t experience expanded awareness right away. It could take weeks, months or even years. And yeah, it’s worth it.

What to Expect: In my experience, it has taken over an hour of meditation to access this state, and as I remember, it took months before the first time. With consistent daily practice, that can shorten to about 15 mins after starting meditation.

2. Psychedelic medicine

Psychedelic medicine includes psilocybin, ayahuasca, mescaline, LSD, DMT and more. They are used within various spiritual practices to allow the flow of superconsciousness states of being. Proceed with caution and under the guidance of a shaman or spiritual guide where permissible.

3. Kesho or Satori experiences

Kensho translates to “ken” which means “seeing” and “sho” which means “nature” or “essence”.

Satori is defined as sudden enlightenment.

They are similar, although Kensho is described as to be more of a glimpse into seeing one’s true nature, as Satori is an immersion and feeling of enlightenment or higher superconscious states.

These experiences usually occur unexpectedly. They can occur within meditation or in/after states of high emotional charge such as adversity, exultation, or grief.

4. Near-Death Experiences (Don’t try it though)

Near-death experiences create a mental and biological response that jolts you into superconsciousness. Along with a release of DMT in the body, the mind enters a highly effective state of function with abilities able to slow or exit time, process high amounts of information rapidly, have out of body experiences, experience expanded consciousness and genius thinking.

NO, we do not condone you practice this. Note for informational purposes only.

If you must try something, you can baby step into the following:

You can, however, safely create experiences of high intensity such as sky-diving, racing, ice-baths, climbing, high-lining and other adrenaline-junkie type sports. Although… these are most effective for putting you in the present moment and making you “feel alive”.

Being “in the moment”, “in the zone” and “on the edge” combined with your biological responses/chemicals and excitatory breathing trigger the “unstoppable” feeling, gratitude and exhilaration of being alive. You can then feel into this state to lean into superconsciousness.

5. Kundalini Awakening

Kundalini, derived from the Sanskrit language, translates to “coiled one”. It is described as serpent-like energy, or lifeforce, lying latent at the base of the spine. If you are able to activate this energy to help it rise up through your chakras you experience the literal strong bioelectric energetic flow accompanied by the experience of superconsciousness.

There are various ways to awaken this energy including kundalini yoga, kriya yoga, pranayama, daily meditation, detoxification and more. Take caution as this energy is strong and can cause psychosis, pain or illness when the body and mind vessels are not ready for the energetic flow. Read more about one man’s personal experience with Kundalini awakening here.

6. Holotropic Breathing

This breathing exercise, developed in the mid-1970s, involves breathing rapidly and exhaling deeply, nearly to the point of hyperventilation.

“Holotropic” means “moving towards wholeness”. After continuous practice within a session, you will experience altered states of consciousness, which may include superconsciousness and subconscious information rising into your conscious awareness.

7. Rapid Flashing Light Therapy

Flashing light therapy that can be set to different frequencies for brainwave entrainment into various states of consciousness, including superconsciousness.

8. Floatation Tanks

Floatation tasks, also knowns as sensory deprivation tanks, are saltwater filled pods deprived of light and sound. The saltwater contains a very high concentration of salt, enabling effortless floating. The water temperature is set to match body temperature, so you cannot feel the difference, creating the sensation of suspended weightlessness.

The sensory deprivation allows for an easier transition of “going inwards” away from the sensory human experience and into “pure awareness” and expanded super consciousness.

9. Brainwave Entrainment

By listening to the corresponding epsilon or lambda brainwave frequencies in the form of binaural beats, your brain will naturally follow these frequencies.

In my personal experience with epsilon brainwave entrainment, I have seen visions and sensations. I have not been catapulted into superconsciousness, more like nudged towards it.

The techniques above are used to achieve higher levels of superconsciousness, ranging in strength and effectiveness. Some techniques are much more powerful than others.

Best of luck experiencing a wider spectrum of yourself. 🙂

Accessing the Superconscious State (For Beginners)

Warning. Some of these practices can be advanced. Consciousness Liberty and its associates take no responsibility for any effects you may experience. All responsibility is taken by the practicer. Use with caution at your own discretion.

We are in a pivotal time in history. Our world is becoming more interconnected and information is flowing at an all-time high. There are endless distractions, services and products offered at your fingertips – and on the go.

With the onset of this informational age, we can have trouble with concentration, over-information, over-medication and performance.

The good news is that we are beginning to understand and leverage our tech and knowledge to improve the quality of our lives and enhance our performance.

Enter superconsciousness. We’ll start by defining what it is and how it can enhance every aspect of your life.

The ideas behind leveraging the superconscious state of mind are genius-level thinking, an empowering perspective, a startling flow of ideas, inspiration and excitement. We will be accessing the “higher self”, or the superconscious aspect of you that connects you to all the knowledge in the universe.

Within superconsciousness is the flow state. A state of being where you are mentally focused and clear. Otherwise known as “being in the zone.”

Here are more reasons to learn how to access the superconscious state:

  • Inspired action
  • Genius level thinking
  • Flow state
  • Brilliant ideas
  • Operating from love and absence of fear
  • Clearer or enhanced perception
  • Extrasensory perception
  • A broader perspective that one of the “ego” self
  • Self-confidence
  • Peacefulness
  • Compassion
  • Intuition

So let’s get into what the superconscious state of being is exactly.

There are varying levels of consciousness as defined by different schools of thought, ranging numerically within 3-7 levels, and more. They include subconscious, pre-conscious, conscious, unity conscious, higher consciousness, divine consciousness, cosmic consciousness and superconsciousness.

The different levels of consciousness create varying states of knowledge, perception and feelings.

What is true in one state of consciousness may not be so in another state.

“There is only consciousness in all its different expressions.”

– Deepak Chopra https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXamK3g3mko

Within the state of superconsciousness, you come into realization with a bigger part of “yourself”, “God”, “The Universe”. You release operating from a fear-based survival mindset into operating with a love-based, giving, service mindset.

Superconsciousness within the levels of consciousness

To illustrate, we’ll organize consciousness below in descending order from the highest realization and vibration to lowest:

  • Divine consciousness
  • Unity Consciousness
  • Cosmic Consciousness
  • Superconsciousness
  • Consciousness
  • Preconscious
  • Subconscious

Divine Consciousness – Seeing through the eyes of God. Nuff said.

Unity Consciousness – The state of consciousness that realizes that all is connected and we are all one. This can be an aspect of superconsciousness in its deeper or higher levels.

Cosmic Consciousness – Transcending sensory human consciousness. Loss of fear of death from “Knowing” that life and death are illusions from a more expanded perspective. Containing the Akashic Records or information about everything contained in the Universe.

Superconscious – Your mind connected to a bigger “self” accessing a perspective or ideas of superhuman abilities, genius thinking, broader perspective. It contains the qualities of interconnectedness, peace, bliss, clarity, love, altruism, service, safety and wellbeing.

Conscious – Your mind in a state of awareness and able to choose, direct, and reason.

Preconscious – The information within your mind that can be easily accessed into consciousness. This includes emotions or information that has not been repressed such as recalling your old address or phone number.

Subconscious – Below your conscious state or aware state and including your memories, stored emotions and experiences, automatic bio functions. Habits performed without “conscious thinking” and repressed or forgotten emotions and memories.

Superconsciousness As Related to Unity, Divine & Cosmic Consciousness

In superconsciousness, you can see the material dimension and the subtle interworkings of cosmic and unity consciousness and bring a broader perspective of ideas and optimal level of functioning to the human experience.

So in effect, superconsciousness at it’s higher levels overlaps with the lower levels of cosmic and unity consciousness.

So how can you reach the state of superconsciousness?

The broader perspective of superconsciousness can be measured in certain brainwave states known as lambda and epsilon frequencies. When you are in this brainwave functioning, the characteristics and experience of superconsciousness are present.

I’m not gonna put it to you lightly here. This is not always an easily achievable state. It usually takes practice and exercise.

Now that we understand the qualities of superconsciousness and the measurable frequency of superconsciousness, we can get into it.

Here are the various ways to attain superconsciousness. Before you get all excited and think you’re gonna be aaaallll superconscious for your next work project, let’s go over some prep.

The lambda and epsilon frequencies of superconsciousness are very high or low frequencies, meaning you need to train your body and mind to receive them.

If you do not train beforehand, it’s like trying to lift 10X the weight you usually lift at the gym with no prior training. Or like trying to run really high voltage into a lightbulb designed for low voltage. You’ll blow the lightbulb. I.e. you may hurt yourself.

You’re a bioelectrical being, so the lightbulb analogy is actually pretty accurate. Symptoms of blowing your personal bio-system may include,

  • Intense pressure in the body
  • Headaches
  • Psychosis
  • Unexplainable illness
  • Emotional instability

ranging from subtle to extreme.

So much like weight lifting, proper training needs to happen mentally, emotionally, spiritually and holistically.

Superconsciousness at its higher levels encompasses cosmic consciousness and even unity consciousness.

So to start training, we will access the lower levels of superconsciousness.

Accessing the Lower Levels of Superconsciousness

I will teach you to access the lower levels of superconsciousness to start. This is your higher self, intuition, genius thinking, flow state, heart intelligence and infinite intelligence.

There are 7 techniques below. And 3 bonus techniques that enhance the effects and make it easier to enter the lower levels of superconsciousness.

Remember that this takes consistent practice over time. The good news is that you can practice pretty much anytime you choose.

1. Get into love and gratitude states

You know that feeling where you’re in love and everything is perfect? This is the right frequency foundation. Feel love, feel gratitude. Just thinking about it is not enough.

Bonus: Get into a state of awe. Feel awe. Usually, you can find that feeling in the majesty of nature.

2. Keep your body moving and flexible

Walk, run, dance, swim, practice yoga. Keep your body healthy and flexible. A stiff body can inhibit the flow of energy and may also cause pressure or pain.

Bonus: Listen to your favorite song and let it move you. There are songs that just “take you there”. Songs that you absolutely love and take you to this inspired, pumped up, amazing place. Use those and allow the song to move your body.

3. Relax the mind and body

In order for energy to flow through the body, you need to relax it. Talk to Qui Gong practitioners. They’ll agree.

4. Ask for what you want

Set an intention. Align your mental energy for your desired outcome.

5. Allow it to flow

When your genius-level thinking, ideas and inspiration come, don’t question it, don’t crush the life out of it with logical, analytical or rational thinking. Ensure you allow it to flow to you by feeling worthy of it and trusting in it.

6. Eat clean and eat for vibration

In order to hold higher vibrations, you want to keep your body healthy and eat food that enhances that high vibration your going for. Usually, it’s eating clean (no junk food, no chemicals) and eating real food, not prepackaged foods.

This helps your body, the energy vessel, to better hold these higher frequencies. Fasting also allows for your body to move into higher vibrations.

Bonus: Note that eating meat grounds you. If you want to facilitate these vibrations refrain from eating meat around the time of practice.

7. Practice Transcendental Meditation

This is where things start to get a little more advanced. When you first start Transcendental Meditation, you will begin to tap into superconsciousness. As you continue to train in Transcendental meditation, you will eventually experience “the gap” an expanded level of consciousness that transcends your identification of self and your body. And you experience cosmic, super or unity consciousness. This coincides with lambda or epsilon brainwave states biologically. You will also be running much higher vibrational energy throughout your body.

Want Better Results in Less Time? Do this 1 Thing to Work Smart & Increase Your Productivity

When performing any task – or series of tasks – such as work, exercising, conversing, dating, brainstorming, meditating etc. and you want to double or triple your productivity, the first thing you want to do is

Line up the energy around you and within you.

This creates a coherent, energetic focus, reduces friction and reduces the amount of time it takes to “get up to speed” or “get into flow” and maximize your productivity.

So how exactly do we do this?

We’ll start with the 10 step checklist to lining up your energy. It’s broken down into 2 main elements:

  • Your Environment (4 steps)
  • Yourself (6 steps)

Then, we’ll go over some examples of setups for tasks such as meditating and writing.

Here’s your checklist to lining up your energy:

1. Your Environment – Space

Where you perform the task. Create a space where you do that task and only that task. This helps for several reasons.

  • It acts as a trigger to train your brain to perform how it usually does when these environmental conditions are met.
  • It meets the requirements for the task at hand and is conducive to facilitating the task. That could mean that it provides the tools you need for the task, or people around you doing the same or similar tasks, or people that can be available to support you in your task.

2. Your Environment – Music

Select music that enhances the mood or feel of your task at hand for increasing performance.

Sometimes having no music is the way to go. Or you can use apps that create ambient sounds or music to help you in your task at hand. I like this app for ambient sound, Noisili.

3. Your Environment – Lighting

Lighting plays a huge role in energy alignment. It affects mood, biochemical production, and the general feel of a place. Use it to your advantage.

4. Your Environment – Misc

Including temperature, minimizing distractions, awareness of technology, food and scents.

5. Yourself – Body

Movement is a crucial determinant in thought and emotion. When you move or posture your body a specific way, it triggers your brain to feel that which you are embodying.

6. Yourself – Breath

The way you breathe has a profound impact on your state. Breathing short and fast stimulates your sympathetic nervous system and facilitates excitation and a state of anxiousness, adrenaline release or even anxiety as your body is prepared for action and self-preservation (flight or flight). Breathing slow and deep, in turn, signals your brain and body to go into parasympathetic or resting, relaxation mode. Either of which can help your task at hand.

7. Yourself – Emotions

Music plays a role in influencing emotions. You can also sit for a few minutes and consciously think of things that produce the desired emotion you want, then feel into that emotion. By “feel into” I mean focus on it, feel it and consciously maintain the feeling. Do this as long as you’d like to really get into that state of emotion you want. I recommend at least 20 seconds.

8. Yourself – Mental Commitment

Once you mentally commit to doing something, it has invaluable power to help you align all your resources into it’s completion. Good examples of this are:

  • Success stories of people with no plan B.
  • The ability for you to finish a 2-week task in 2 days because you know that you need to finish and turn it in by then.

9. Yourself – Mental Identity

The ability to see yourself as the right person for the task at hand. To believe in your ability to do it.

10. Yourself – Mental Flow

As you begin to align more and more elements, it’s easier to align yourself into mental flow or what many productivity gurus simply call “Flow”. It is a state of effortless, and sometimes genius-like, performance and productivity where the passing of time is forgotten, ideas and execution become effortless and brilliant and one is so absorbed in the task at hand that they lose themselves, per say, in the task.

Let’s take a look at some examples of tasks with these steps applied.

This is my setup.

Meditation

  1. Environment – Space
    • Using the same space for meditation.
    • Using cushions.
    • Got used to using a blanket during meditation when it was cold, now it feels strange not to cover myself with a blanket. It immediately triggers a meditative state of consciousness.
  2. Environment – Music
    • Depending on the type of meditation and outcome, music is optional. I usually prefer no music to lose sensual contact and shift into a loss of ego consciousness. Consciousness of self.
    • I use binaural beats if I want to entrain my brain to a certain frequency.
    • I listen to music to evoke feelings for Metta Meditation.
  3. Environment – Lighting
    • No lighting is preferred. Lack of light stimulates pineal gland melatonin production and pineal gland simulation in general – which is great for meditation. 3rd eye stuff haha.
  4. Environment – Misc
    • I may use incense or essential oils depending on the desired outcome.
    • Phones on airplane mode. I become very averse to cellphone and wifi frequencies while meditation and afterward.
    • Tibetian singing bowl to cleanse the space before meditation.
  5. Yourself – Body
    • My go-to meditation position is half lotus pose.
    • Hands are upright, index finger to thumb usually. That changes depending on the desired outcome.
    • Tounge resting lightly on the roof of my mouth. Known as Jiva Bandha, it facilitates energetic flow.
  6. Yourself – Breath
    • Deep and slow for relaxation and oxygenation.
    • Different breathing techniques, or pranayama, have different consciousness-altering effects.
  7. Yourself – Emotions
    • I use music, thoughts or visualization to generate certain emotions for desired meditation outcomes. Great for Metta meditation or generating love vibration for the experience in itself and bliss.
  8. Yourself – Mental Commitment
    • I meditate every night. I know I’m going to do it and am committed to it, even if it’s late because I’m aware that it benefits my life.
    • The daily routine helps take any question or hesitation out of it.
  9. Yourself – Mental Identity
    • I consider myself someone who meditates regularly and is spiritually inclined.
  10. Yourself – Mental Flow
    • Everything else mentioned facilitates the energy and triggers the state to get into “flow”. In meditation, flow creates feelings of bliss, expansion and connection; and the absence of fear. I know I’m in flow when I’m in this consciousness state.

Writing

When I write for Consciousness Liberty, here’s my setup.

  1. Environment – Space
    • Go to a cafe and order a drink. Usually coffee.
    • I like having the feeling of people around while writing or working.
    • Minimizes the opportunity for distractions or engaging in other activities like being at home does.
    • Preferably a patio or nature scene if the weather is nice.
  2. Environment – Music
    • Usually, play a fast or powerful instrumental to free write. Sometimes it’s a slower music flow. Music definitely helps a lot.
    • I use headphones almost all the time when writing in a cafe. I’m looking for immersion into my writing.
  3. Environment – Lighting
    • Natural sunlight is preferred. Sitting next to a window or outside.
  4. Environment – Misc
    • I like the ambiance of a beautiful cafe.
    • Warm cozy atmosphere or beautiful patio day.
    • As for scents, tastes, and nervous system stimulation – coffee.
  5. Yourself – Body
    • Sitting in alert, attentive posture while writing.
  6. Yourself – Breath
    • Take a few deep breaths when I get stuck or caught up.
    • I also bring my attention to how I’m breathing from time to time.
  7. Yourself – Emotions
    • When writing in flow, I use music to help bring out an emotion related to what I’m writing about. Hands down, big influencer.
  8. Yourself – Mental Commitment
    • I drive to the cafe for the sole purpose of writing. When I sit in the chair to write, I’m not going anywhere else, doing anything else – I’m fully committed.
    • I also have a day a week I reserve to write.
  9. Yourself – Mental Identity
    • I identify with Consciousness Liberty and the values within it – no question.
  10. Yourself – Mental Flow
    • After several minutes, ideas begin to flow and I flow with it. As I follow this ritual, it’s becoming easier and easier to get into flow faster.

So, you get the idea.

If you’re thinking right now, “Oh yeah those are obvious basics,” then congrats, you already understand the concept.

We recognize intuitively when “something is off.” When you’re at a fine dining restaurant and the lighting isn’t right, you’ll feel it. You may not always recognize the specific factor, but you’ll feel it.

The idea is that you apply this concept and checklist of aligning your energy first, then tweak and test to maximize productivity.

How can you maximize alignment in a brainstorming session, before a big speech, before a competition, to facilitate rigorous training, for getting into flow faster, for sustained performance, etc?

Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences!

Here’s to working smarter – not harder!

Unlock brain potential

Unlock Your Genius Through Brain Synchronization

Ready for a mindset shift?

There is no such thing as being a left or a right-brained person.

We were born with both sides of the brain to use both sides of the brain.

In contemporary western society – specifically the business sector – we tend to favor our left brain’s analytical, logical, focused thinking.

Society has conditioned us to identify and favor one side of the brain, so we identify with either being left or right brain and tend to use only one side. We say things like, “Oh, I’m just not a creative person.” or “I’m not a numbers person.”

What if you could have both?

Luckily, you can!

Favoring one side of the brain creates limitation and mental imbalance characterized by migraines, stress, brain fogginess, memory lapse, anxiety and a limited and narrow capacity for thinking and functioning.

Let’s take a look at what the left and right hemispheres are designed to do

To simplify:

  • Left hemisphere thinking: Generally more sequential, linear, logical, practical, mathematical, analytical, scientific, and time-oriented.
  • Right hemisphere thinking: More non-linear, intuitive, abstract, big-picture focused, creative, and space-oriented.

It appears to be common knowledge that the right side of the brain is creative and language-based and the left brain is logic and analytics based. In reality, both sides of the brain handle both analytic and creative elements. It’s just that one side of the brain is more specialized for a certain type of action. [10]

There is an interesting phenomenon that happens when you take on a certain task. One side of your brain will take on the task even if it’s not specialized for the task, and your brain will not switch over to the other side of the brain, even if the task is better suited. It will just take the task and run with it. You could be using the less suited side of your brain or missing out on entire regions of your brain when functioning and thinking. [9]

When you don’t use one side of the brain, your brain defaults to what it’s used to and the parts that don’t get used atrophy. This creates a narrow-minded view of the world, limited thinking capacity and neurological imbalance. It’s like trying to draw a picture using word processing software instead of Photoshop or an image editing software. It’s just not the best tool for the job.

We are going to explore how to achieve brain synchronization, strengthen the parts of the brain that don’t get used as often, create new neurological connections in the brain, and balance your central nervous system for a great deal of physical, mental, and emotional benefits.

It’s time to maximize the use of your brain and maximize your potential.

“This relative shift in hemispheric dominance (from left-brain dominance to whole-brain dominance) may result in therapeutic effects which are likely to enhance mind-body integration and overall improvements in physical and emotional health. Because of a reduction in cognitive activities during moments of whole brain synchrony, it is believed that negative thinking, self-punitive thoughts and excessive worrying are apt to slow down and consequently a reduction in cognitive anxiety is experienced.”

[Carrington, 1977; Sadigh,1991; Schwartz, Davidson, & Goleman, 1978. https://altered-states.net/barry/newsletter459/]

You have two sides of the brain so why not use both to your advantage? Why not use them together to achieve powerful results of increased focus, super learning and enhanced creativity.

You can do this through brain synchronization.

First of all, what is brain synchronization?

“[Synchronization] Coherence is one mathematical method that can be used to determine if two or more sensors, or brain regions, have similar neuronal oscillatory activity with each other.” or thus in sync with each other.

The oscillatory activity of wavelengths is detected with an Electroencephalography (EEG) or Magnetoencephalography (MEG) machine and then analyzed with several types of mathematical algorithms.

What are the benefits of brain synchronization?

Being able to combine or connect each part of the brain’s specialty is like bringing together a team of experts, all in your brain.

Brain coherence creates homeostasis in your central nervous system and allows for more flexibility in thinking. You are able to draw upon the strengths of your brain in both the analytical and creative sense, increased peacefulness and clarity of mind, increased sports performance, memory, health, emotional stability, focus, less stress, better sleep, allowance for super learning and more energy. [2]

Brain synchronization also reduces migraines, fogginess, and memory lapses and helps build clarity, concise thinking, and help recover maximum functionality.

So you’re probably thinking, “YES! Let’s do this! How do we begin?”

Before we get carried away with brain synchronization, it’s important to note that your brain has evolved into two separate hemispheres for important reasons.

“It doesn’t seem feasible for the hemispheres to fully share information or to operate in a fully unified fashion. Moreover, in a lot of cases, keeping things separate is (literally!) the smarter way for the hemispheres to function. Dividing up tasks and allowing the hemispheres to work semi-independently and take different approaches to the same problem seems to be a good strategy for the brain … just as it often is in partnerships between people.”

Kara D. Federmeier, cognitive neuroscientist [http://sequencewiz.org/2014/08/13/integrating-right-and-left-brain/]

In order to survive, our brains evolved the ability to focus simultaneously on two things at a given time. The left brain is designed to focus on what you give your attention to – a more narrow, detail and time-oriented design – while the right brain stays available to focus on all the dangers and what if’s – a broader and spacial oriented design. [10]

This is designed to keep you alive, in case you’re minding your own business, observing some cool stuff and an unexpected danger comes your way. Or in nature – while you’re hunting and potentially being hunted.

Pretty awesome right?

So usually, that’s how it works, although there are some specialized tasks that benefit from using both sides of the brain and various regions of the brain in communication.

What is brain synchronicity best used for?

Sometimes you want your brain hemispheres to function independently and sometimes you want them to synchronize. When is the best time to maximize brain synchronization?

  • Exercise & Playing sports – Coordination and physical execution.
  • Brainstorming – generating ideas, creative thinking, writing or “downloads” – spontaneous bursts of genius thinking or ideas that pop into your mind.
  • Neurological balance – central nervous system balance, limbic system/mood balance, clear thinking, removing fogginess or migraines/headaches, promoting peacefulness.
  • Positivity – Enhancing positive outlook on life and positive thoughts.
  • Super learning – Enhancing the capacity for learning and retaining information in the brain through strengthening and facilitating information transfer in various regions of the brain. The striatum learns things quickly, while the prefrontal cortex puts the pieces together to understand the big picture. If the communication is not effective or present, you will have more ability with understanding and retaining the information.

“The striatum learns very simple things really quickly, and then its output trains the prefrontal cortex to gradually pick up on the bigger picture,” Miller says. “The striatum learns the pieces of the puzzle, and then the prefrontal cortex puts the pieces of the puzzle together.”

– Dr. Jeffrey Miller [http://news.mit.edu/2014/synchronized-brain-waves-enable-rapid-learning-0612 ]

Brain Regions

Neuroimaging brain studies have found that there are specific regions of the brain that are specialized at processing certain types of information. There is also evidence that shows that separate specialized parts of the brain communicate with each other in order to combine their specialties and increase the effectiveness of thought.

Each region is designed to specialize in a specific task and when tasks require various specialties, the brain is designed to communicate through neurons firing to each other on the same frequency – thus brain synchronization.

“C. Maxwell Cade, in his research concerning the mind and its states of awareness, concluded that peak mental functioning is associated with bilateral hemispheric synchrony.”

Biologically, how does brain sync work?

The left and right hemispheres of our brain are physically separate. The deep groove that separates them is called the longitudinal fissure. There is a band that connects them called the corpus callosum (see image below). The corpus callosum, the bundle of nerve fibers that connects our brain hemispheres, is the bridge or communication center between the two hemispheres.

longitudial fissue and corpus callosum
[http://www.anatomyqa.com/neuro-anatomy/cerebrum-funcion-areas-gyri/]

Studies have shown the corpus callosum is thicker in ambidextrous people and people who meditate.

Studies have shown ambidextrous people (Being ambidextrous technically means equal with both hands) to be better able to read people, see both sides of an issue, and recall details of an event and their context. Better integration and balance of the brain hemispheres allows a better kind of thinking.[2]

A 2012 UCLA School of Medicine study found that the “corpus callosum,” the grand central station-like cable of nerves cross-linking the brain hemispheres, was remarkably stronger, thicker, and more well connected in meditation practitioners.

Dominantly using only one side of your brain, causes shrinkage in the areas of your brain that are not being used, such as the corpus callosum.

Just like building muscles with exercise, you will strengthen and build your corpus callosum with use to be able to more easily communicate between your brain hemispheres.

Brain synchronization and the formation of new neurological connections

It has been shown that brainwave synchronization likely precedes the changes in synapses, or connections between neurons, believed to underlie learning and long-term memory formation.

Through the brain’s neuroplasticity, it’s ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections throughout life. [3] Over time you can rewire and reform it use it’s maximum potential.

“If you can change your thoughts from moment to moment, you can’t be doing it by constantly making new connections and breaking them apart in your brain. Plasticity doesn’t happen on that kind of time scale.”

“There’s got to be some way of dynamically establishing circuits to correspond to the thoughts we’re having in this moment, and then if we change our minds a moment later, those circuits break apart somehow. We think synchronized brain waves may be the way the brain does it.”

– Miller, member of MIT’s Picower Institute for Learning and Memory
[http://news.mit.edu/2014/synchronized-brain-waves-enable-rapid-learning-0612]

How to synchronize the brain

There are several ways that brain synchronization can be achieved.

1. Meditation

One of the most effective ways to create left and right brain synchronization is meditation. Meditation balances your left and right brain hemispheres and strengthens your corpus callosum. [8]

“During meditation, the grand central station-like cable of nerves connecting your two brain hemispheres, the corpus callosum — becomes deeply stimulated, much like a joggers legs on a long run.”

2. Exercise & Movement

The left side of the brain controls the right side of the body, and the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body. Using both sides of your body uses and strengthens both sides of the brain improving coordination.

You can also focus on crossing the midline of your body by touching one side of your body to the other, such as your left hand on your right knee. When doing so, your brain sends signals from one hemisphere to the other.

3. Alternate Nostril Breathing (Nadi Shodhana)

This technique has been used by yogis throughout history to purify the nadis or energy channels in the body. The nasal cycle has been scientifically shown to be linked to the opposite hemispheric dominance.

When your right nostril is dominant, the EEG (electroencephalogram) measured activity in the brain is greater in the left hemisphere of your brain – and vice versa. When the nostril dominance switches, so does the activity of the brain hemisphere.

Follow along with Adriene in the video below to learn how to do Nadi Shodhana.

4. Switching Up Your Routine

If you are normally someone who is logical and analytical, try a free-thinking approach or ideology outside of your normal routine and vice versa. Use your non-dominant hand for activities such as brushing your teeth or eating.

The left brain is better suited for familiar movements, while the right brain is better suited for new ones. Variation in movement activates both sides of your brain.

5. Binaural Beats & Hemi Sync Technology

One of the easiest ways to sync the left and right hemispheres of your brain is through binaural beats. This involves delivering sound waves of sightly different frequencies through headphones into each each to produce brainwave entrainment that follows the difference in hertz between each frequency.

So if one ear is hearing 100 HZ and the other is hearing 107 HZ, there is a difference of 7 HZ and your brain will entrain (or follow) the frequency of 7 HZ, thus falling into theta brainwave frequency. Read more about brainwave frequencies here.

“Brainwave entrainment, also referred to as brainwave synchronization and neural entrainment, refers to the capacity of the brain to naturally synchronize its brainwave frequencies with the rhythm of periodic external stimuli, most commonly auditory, visual, or tactile.”

Basically, the brain will begin to sync with the same vibrations it is exposed to.

By entraining brainwaves with binaural beats using headphones, it is possible to float the brain in this state of hemispheric synchronization for prolonged periods. Each time we do this, it is like exercising a new brain function, which makes the brain more able to engage this function as it’s normal repertoire of behavior,”

“Using sound in these ways, it is possible to make profound changes in brainwave patterns and states of consciousness, observable on brainwave mapping equipment (EEG), as well as positive changes in the body, measurable with blood tests, bio-feedback equipment and other sophisticated procedures. We are also able to influence the core balance and functioning of the brain and central nervous system as a whole.”

– Dr. Jeffrey Thompson. Founder/ Director of The Center for Neuroacoustic  Research in Carlsbad, California [https://scientificsounds.com/index.php/library/neuroacoustics-the-healing-power-of-sound]

Our brains are usually in the beta brainwave frequency of alertness and concentration, so it’s good to entrain your brain back to alpha, theta or delta frequencies, promoting relaxation while syncing your brain hemispheres. To read more about brainwave frequencies, click here.

Hemi-Sync technology is specifically designed to achieve brain synchronization and induce various desired states of consciousness such as deep relaxation or focused attention. [5]

You can also find various videos on brain synchronization by searching online for “brain synchronization binaural beats”.

6. Listening To or Playing A Musical Instrument

Various studies have been done on the effects of music on the brain. Listening to music lights up the large-scale neural networks of the brain associated with emotion (limbic system), listening, motor (movement) skills and creativity.

Playing music is unique because it engages the right brain, through focus on the melody in music. The left hemisphere is responsible for the understanding of musical structure and motor skills when playing the instrument.

Listening to music and playing instruments strengthens the various areas of the brain and their connections and improves the amount of neural response to stimuli for increased coordination and sensitivity. [6, 16, 17]

How do I know when my brain is synchronized?

Good question.

You can tell when you feel clarity of mind, when you feel “in the zone”, awesome ideas are flowing and you feel present and vibrant.

You can also tell by the positive outlook you have on life and the feeling of being unstoppable.

You can also tell by your coordination ability. When you’re playing the guitar smoothly and flawlessly or making shots while playing sports.

You get the idea.

Remember, just like exercise, over time you will strengthen the various regions of the brain responsible for synchronization and facilitate information transfer, optimal thinking, coordination and memory, a balanced neural system and a positive outlook on life.

Not bad huh? You’ll feel like you have superpowers.

Just don’t let it go to your head haha. 😛

You Want to Effect Real Change? Ignore What’s Wrong with the World and FOCUS on the GOOD.

The next time you’re with your friends in a social environment, notice what they focus on when they speak to you. Are they focusing on what’s wrong with the world? The issues and the pain points? Or are they focused on the amazing things happening in the world and their lives? How happy and grateful they are?

Where are they directing their energy?

Where are you directing yours?

When you put your attention into something, you give something energy. In order for you to have thoughts and emotions, you have to put some energy into their creation.

Most of us have heard about “The Secret” and how directing your thoughts and emotions with intention works. Simply, focus your thoughts and emotions on what you want. Say it out loud, write it down, describe it in detail etc. and it will manifest into your life.

So, what do you think is happening when you are talking about the current issues in the world?

You are giving them your Attention and your energy.

You are making them stronger and keeping them alive.

Now, am I saying to ignore the issues and what’s wrong with the world?

Yes.

If they are not directly present in your life, meaning you had to go find them on your newsfeed and you don’t know anyone that is dealing with them directly. Yes, ignore them.

Before you completely disagree with me and think:

“What the hell, are you kidding me? Ignoring them isn’t going to make them disappear. We need to create awareness etc.”

Consider this.

You will do more good, provide more help and be more effective if — you focus on the good. Otherwise, you are adding your energy to the issue at hand. You’re making the issue worse while your ego feels a sense of righteousness. Feels good to you, but it’s counterproductive and counter-effective.

Yes, you want to create awareness as in, “Hey this issue is happening. Now you know about it.” And THAT’S IT.

No emotion, no talking on and on about it, and no ruminating about it.

Let’s do a quick experiment.

Think about 3 things you’re grateful for. Feel them, say them out loud. Feel that gratitude feeling running through your body.

Now.

Think of those 3 things and find what’s missing from them or what’s wrong with them.

Examples:

  • Gratitude: I am so grateful for my house.
  • What’s missing: Although my furniture is a little plain, I have no view of the ocean, the washing machine is loud, it’s not well lit, whatever.

Chances are you can come up with something to find lack in.

  • Gratitude: I’m grateful for my healthy body.
  • What’s Missing: Yeah I’m healthy but I could lose some weight, and I could be tanner (or lighter) and my butt could be more lifted and my legs more toned…. bigger biceps, better calves, etc.

We are good at focusing on what’s missing. You can thank your brain survival system for this (news media capitalizes on this BIG TIME) Because your brain is wired to look for dangers and threats.

So which was the more productive thought?

Which one made you feel happier? Raised your energy?

Which one do you think is going to bring more things you’re grateful for in life?

Chances are, you easily noticed it was the thought, energy and vibration of  GRATITUDE that made you feel happier. It will also cause you to notice more gratitude in your life.

Wanna know why?

Let’s look to science!

From an energetic frequency perspective, we’ve often heard that energy attracts like energy. I wasn’t able to find any scientific proof on this.

However!

I was able to conclude with science that like energy creates and amplifies like energy.

How?

Acoustic Resonance & Sympathetic resonance

“Acoustic resonance is a phenomenon where acoustic systems amplify sound waves whose frequency matches one of its own natural frequencies of vibration (its resonance frequencies). Additionally, a vibration from one object can be passed on to another object at rest, if it has a similar resonance frequency. This transfer of acoustic energy is known as Sympathetic resonance or sympathetic vibration. It is a harmonic phenomenon wherein a formerly passive string or vibratory body responds to external vibrations to which it has a harmonic likeness.”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acoustic_resonance https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sympathetic_resonance

In the brain, the resonance takes the form of:

Brainwave Entrainment

“Brainwave entrainment, also referred to as brainwave synchronization and neural entrainment, refers to the capacity of the brain to naturally synchronize its brainwave frequencies with the rhythm of periodic external stimuli, most commonly auditory, visual, or tactile.”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brainwave_entrainment

Basically, the brain will begin to sync with the same vibrations it is exposed to.

Additionally, your brain contains an amazing system, called the:

Reticular Activating System (RAS)

The Reticular Activation System or (RAS) is a bundle of nerves that filter the information coming from the environment. The way the filter is set is determined by what you consciously (or subconsciously) set your attention to.

Your RAS will filter out what you are not focusing on. If you are focused on your friend’s conversation in a busy restaurant, you will be able to filter in her conversation and filter out all other conversations as background noise. You will NOT be able to comprehend what you are not focused on.

So,

When you are focused on and talking about what’s wrong with the world with someone, you are passing those vibrations to someone else. If they resonate with you, you begin to create those vibrations inside of them. Then you will both amplify each other’s energies.

Therefore,

What kind of world do you live in when you are vibrating in “what’s wrong” mode? What are you CREATING and putting out into the world? When you and your friend talk about problems you amplify the energy and create more of that which you are talking about! Especially when you get mad about it.

So, let’s talk about PEACE, LOVE, ACCEPTANCE, FREEDOM. Create THAT WORLD for yourself and those around you.

Let’s amplify THAT into the world.

So, focus on the good. It’s a much better use of your energy. Like

Like Ghandi said,

“Be the change you WISH to see in the world.”

And Gandi knows what’s up. 🙂

Beyond Delta & Gamma: Superconsciousness Lambda & Epsilon Brainwave States

Knowing about the 5 main brainwave states can help us better understand our awareness types and which is best for our current goals.

Now scientists are beginning to discover what monks have experienced for many years: Rarely seen brainwave states associated with ecstatic states of consciousness. Lambda and Epsilon brainwave states.

Lambda and Epsilon brainwave states.

What is the Lambda brainwave state?

Lambda waves are very high frequency brainwaves associated with wholeness and integration. They are also associated with mystical and out of body experiences.

FREQUENCY:

Lambda waves oscillate at a frequency of  100 to 200 HZ.

CHARACTERISTICS:

Lambda brainwaves are rarely seen in most people, but are present in the minds of Tibetian monks who can sit for hours meditating.

It’s important to note: Between gamma and lambda brainwave states exists a higher level gamma state: hyper-gamma. Hyper gamma brainwaves exist within the highest range of gamma, around the 100 HZ range.

Lambda state creates synchronization of the left and right brain hemispheres. This state is sometimes experienced as the “aha” state.

Hyper-gamma and lambda states of consciousness are associated with the ability of certain sects of Tibetan monks who can mediate in the Himalayan mountains in sub-zero temperatures wearing little clothing and maintaining a hot body temperature which melts the snow around them. The heat generated by this frequency gives the body the ability to radiate heat and melt snow.

Remember this guy?

This is Wim Hof, nicknamed “The Iceman” who has the ability to control his core body temperature and withstand extreme freezing temperatures. Although I don’t know his exact method for doing so, it looks like it has a lot to do with the ability to maintain Lambda brainwave state.

Wim Hof, Iceman

What is Epsilon brainwave state?

Epsilon waves are very low frequency brainwaves associated with wholeness and integration. They are also associated with mystical and out of body experiences.

FREQUENCY:

Epsilon waves oscillate at a frequency of below .5 HZ and above 0 HZ.

CHARACTERISTICS:

The epsilon state of consciousness is a very low-frequency brainwave. (Most electroencephalogram (EEG) devices are not able to measure below .5 HZ. )

This is the state yogi’s go into when they achieve “suspended animation”. In this state, western medical doctors will no longer perceive a heartbeat, respiration or pulse.

Epsilon state, like lambda state, also shows synchronizing of the left and right brain hemispheres along with feelings of wholeness and integration.

So, what is the link between Lambda and Epsilon brainwave states?

You may have noticed that the definition of these two brainwave states is exactly the same except for their speed of oscillation.

Although these brainwave states oscillate at vastly different speeds, experiences within them are found to have exactly the same consciousness states.

Many different groups of independent EEG researchers have found these states to be the same, suggesting a circular link between these two extremes of brainwave activity.

Upon taking a closer look at the extremely slow epsilon brainwave patterns, researchers have discovered super fast hyper-gamma/lambda brainwaves “riding” within and vice versa. This helps explain why the same consciousness experiences occur with widely different brainwave types.

How can I achieve lambda or epsilon brainwave states?

MEDITATION:

In order to achieve these brainwave states, a consistent daily meditation practice is recommended.

It’s important that you first familiarize yourself with gamma and delta states. Your brain will naturally begin to increase production of alpha, theta, delta and gamma waves.

You will also experience increased self-awareness. Familiarize yourself with gamma and delta states before going into lambda or epsilon.

BRAIN ENTRAINMENT:

Brain entrainment audio tracks are also available, although it’s recommended that you try entrainment tracks on gamma and delta frequencies first.

Achieving hyper-gamma, lambda and epsilon states leads to very powerful states of consciousness and may incur headaches, so be cautious when experimenting.

This blog or author does not take responsibility for any effects you may experience upon experimenting with these brainwave states. Any effects experienced by the experimenter are the sole responsibility of the experimenter.

5 Brainwave States You Should Know About

Featured image designed by Freepik.

There are many vibrational brainwave states and each thought and emotion has its own signature wave state.

Changing our thoughts and emotions changes our brainwave vibrations, but did you know that you can change your state of being just by changing your brainwaves?

These are 5 categories of brainwave vibrational states that you should be aware of.

Gamma – Beta – Alpha – Theta – Delta

brain_waves_large.jpg

Image: http://www.medicalook.com/human_anatomy/organs/Brain_waves.html

Gamma

FREQUENCY:
Gamma brain waves oscillate at a frequency of 38 to 100 HZ.

CHARACTERISTICS:

The fastest, generally occurring recorded brainwave state, gamma brainwaves contributes to rapid information processing, peak concentration and learning. They are shown to be highly active when experiencing states of love, altruism and “higher virtues”. Gamma neurological firing was once said to be above the frequency of neuronal firing, but now is known to fire at a tiny amplitude, barely noticeable.

Gamma brainwaves serve to bind and harmonize the different parts of the brain. When your various senses observe an object through sight, smell, taste etc. the object is perceived by different parts of the brain. Gamma unifies the information and creates coherence of various inputs.

It’s also associated with feelings of compassion, higher levels of insight and information, psychic abilities, spiritual realizations and out of body experiences.

This new region of brain activity and states of consciousness associated
with more spiritual states of self-awareness is called Epsilon. Read more about it here.

Gamma state improves memory and perception and is considered the optimal state for functioning.

SIGNATURE FEELING:

Beta

FREQUENCY:
Beta brain waves oscillate at a frequency of 12 to 38 HZ.

CHARACTERISTICS:

Beta state is the dominant state of the alert, waking mind. When engaged in activities of the outside world, you are in beta state. This brainwave state consists of high frequency, low amplitude waves and uses a lot of energy to maintain. They are great for engaging in tasks, thinking fast, writing and engaging in conversations.

Most schools and workplaces encourage and operating in the beta state. Beta state is great for engaging in tasks, thinking fast, writing and having conversations.

Beta is also associated with excitement and rushes of adrenaline. You are in beta state when you are goal oriented and getting things done. Prolonging in this state is associated with stress, muscle tension, increased blood pressure, anxiety, insomnia and addiction.

SIGNATURE FEELING:

Alpha

FREQUENCY:
Alpha brain waves oscillate at a frequency of 8 to 12 HZ.

CHARACTERISTICS:

Alpha waves and slower and higher in amplitude than beta waves. Alpha state is a relaxed and usually meditative state. Alpha brainwaves promote creativity, problem-solving and a flow state or “getting into the zone”. Alpha brainwaves allow for more balanced emotions.

Because alpha is a relaxed state, tension, anxiety and stress dissolve when you move from beta to alpha. This leads to mental coordination, alert calmness and the release of serotonin.

Alpha brainwave state bridges the conscious and subconscious mind. When you are in alpha state accessing your subconscious mind, you are highly suggestible. Your subconscious mind doesn’t understand logical and physical limitations like your conscious mind does. When you are in an excited or stressed state, you may block the production of alpha waves. Meditation or relaxation techniques can bring you back to alpha state.

When you are in an excited or stressed state, you may block the production of alpha waves. Meditation or relaxation techniques can bring you back to alpha state.

Alpha waves also promote the awareness of being in the present, or “in the now”. Switching into alpha states boosts the immune systems and helps with learning large amounts of information.

SIGNATURE FEELING:

Theta

FREQUENCY:
Theta brain waves oscillate at a frequency of 3 to 8 HZ.

CHARACTERISTICS:

Theta brainwaves are of greater amplitude to alpha and even slower. Usually, theta brainwaves occur when you are in a dreaming state of sleeping and in deep meditation. Theta brainwaves can occur when you are awake, although most adults do not get relaxed enough to maintain this state.

Theta is associated with intuition, healing and creativity. Theta is also great for language learning and development. Theta improves spiritual awareness and is associated with ESP and channeling.

Artists, musicians and children can more easily access theta by being in a very relaxed and/or creative state.

You can get into theta state while driving, when you “zone out” and don’t remember how you got from there to here. Repetitive tasks that disengage your mind such as brushing your teeth or showering creates theta waves allowing a flow of ideas to suddenly come up.

You can also go into theta when daydreaming, playing video games, jogging or meditating. In theta state, our senses are withdrawn from the external world and focused on our internal world.

Theta state is where we keep deep feeling, raw emotions, fears, traumas and nightmares.

When in theta state, you have difficulty focusing and prolonged theta state may create feelings of disengagement, boredom and depression.

SIGNATURE FEELING:

Delta

FREQUENCY:
Delta brain waves oscillate at a frequency of .5 to 3 HZ.

CHARACTERISTICS:

Delta brainwaves are of higher amplitude than beta. Slow, loud and deep — like a drum beat. They are created in deep, dreamless sleep and in the deepest meditations.

They promote feelings of empathy, extreme bliss and compassion.

They are associated with deep, restorative healing sleep. Delta brainwaves stimulate the pituitary gland releasing human growth hormone, HGH. They are also associated with aiding in the release of anti-aging hormones, melatonin and DHEA, while decreasing cortisol, the stress hormone that promotes aging.

Apart from infants and advanced meditators, not many people are able to be in a delta brainwave state and remain conscious. Usually, they will drift into unconscious sleep beforehand.

Delta brainwaves allow for connection beyond your subconscious mind and into your unconscious mind, where you have access to control what would normally be unconscious or automatic functions in your body, mind and emotions.

Delta waves are involved in involuntary bodily functions such as heartbeat and digestion and are where much restoration and healing in the body takes place.

Delta promotes excellent intuitive abilities, connection with your spiritual self, ESP and out of body experiences.

5 Types Of Brain Waves Frequencies: Gamma, Beta, Alpha, Theta, Delta

Apply The Law of Neutralization & Never Have Another Bad Day Again

Let’s face it, some days you wake up and wish you never left your house. You feel unusually irritable, depressed or just “blah” or “meh”. This affects you, your relationships, your career and your overall success in life.

As you grow and take on more responsibility, there is more pressure to perform — to take on more demanding, advanced and challenging tasks in your work and home space.

The pressure’s on to perform and excel every day.

So how do you sustain your permanent “A-Game” to perform at your very best every day?
How do you make every day a GREAT day?

“To change your mood or mental state — change your vibration.” – The Kybalion

I’m going to share some very powerful ancient wisdom, so you can use the Law of Neutrality to never have another bad day again.

Applying the Law of Neutralization brings mental and emotional balance, stability and sustained success in your life.

Sounds too good to be true?

The law is simple. The challenge lies in the application. It takes diligence and mastery to command.

Ready? We are going to dive deep into wisdom here so stay with me even if you don’t understand all the details.

According to Hermetic philosophy, there are 7 natural Principles of the Universe. Among these 7 is the Principle of Rhythm. The Principle of Rhythm is defined in the book, The Kybalion, which states:

“Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates.” – The Kybalion.

This principle can be seen in nature in the form of day and night,  the changing of seasons, the waves of the ocean and the rise and fall of your moods.

This principle embodies the truth that in everything there is manifested a measured motion, to and fro; a flow and inflow, backward and forward.

We see and understand the rise-and-fall behavior of these energy waves that permeate our existence.

Rhythm

It is a pendulum-like movement between the two poles. Hot and cold, happy and sad, courageous and fearful, empowered and powerless.

And it can make a world of difference in your performance when you wake up especially demotivated or fearful.

This principle explains that what goes up must also come down, including your wealth, moods, success etc. Understanding this principle is crucial to your perpetual success and balance in life.

The good news is that once you understand this principle you can also neutralize it. The Hermetists used this principle and also understood how to neutralize its’ effects.

“…there are many Planes of Causation, and one may use the laws of the higher to overcome the laws of the lower.” – The Kybalion

The Law of Neutralization

The law of Neutralization works by applying the laws from the higher planes of consciousness, the mental plane, to the lower planes of consciousness, the emotional and physical planes of consciousness to neutralize the swing of the pendulum caused by the Principle of Rhythm.

The Principle of Rhythm manifests on the mental as well as the physical plane.

“Rhythm may be neutralized by an application of the Art of Polarization.”
– The Kybalion

The moods and feelings you experience on the emotional plane of consciousness are due to the backward and forward swing of the mental pendulum which carries us from one polar experience of emotion to the opposite. Such as elation and depression.

Applying the Law of Neutralization

First, we will understand what the planes of consciousness are, so we can affect the higher upon the lower.

According to various spiritual and esoteric teachings, there are 7-31 planes of consciousness that range depending on how they are broken down and explained.

Below, I have defined them as 7, to keep it simple. Although they can be further broken down.

#1 or highest plane of consciousness is the Logoic Plane. The lowest or densest plane is the physical plane at #7. The highest plane vibrates at the highest frequency and the lowest plane vibrates at the lowest frequency, comparatively.

They are:

  1. Logoic / Monadic Plane
  2. Divine Plane
  3. The Spiritual Plane
  4. The Buddhic / Unity Plane
  5. The Mental / Causal Plane
  6. The Emotional / Astral Plane
  7. The Physical Plane

Taken from: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plane_(esotericism)

We are focusing on applying the Law of Neutralization on the mental plane, in bold above. From this list, you can see that the mental plane lies above the emotional and physical planes. So we will use the law of neutralization to balance our mind and consequently our emotions.

According to the Kybalion:

“The Hermetic Master, or advanced student, polarizes himself at the desired pole, and by a process akin to “refusing” to participate in the backward swing, or, if you prefer, a “denial” of its influence over him, he stands firm in his polarized position, and [1.] allows the mental pendulum to swing back along the unconscious plane.

“All individuals who have attained any degree of self-mastery, accomplish this, more or less unknowingly, and by refusing to allow their moods and negative mental states to affect them, they apply the Law of Neutralization. The Master, however, carries this to a much higher degree of proficiency, and [2.] by the use of his Will he attains a degree of Poise and Mental Firmness almost impossible of belief on the part of those who allow themselves to be swung backward and forward by the mental pendulum of moods and feelings. – The Kybalion

I have bolded the key parts of the above:

    1. By using the law of neutralization you allow the swing of the mental pendulum to swing in the unconscious mental plane instead of the conscious mental plane.
  1. This is achieved by willpower.

“The Will is superior to the conscious manifestation of this Principle, although the Principle itself can never be destroyed. We may escape its effects, but the Principle operates, nevertheless. The pendulum ever swings, although we may escape being carried along with it.” – The Kybalion

So what does this mean exactly?

The master uses willpower do 2 things:

    1. Polarizes himself with a selected mental state (say positivity) and stays there, basking in positivity. Then
  1. Raises his ego (himself) to a higher plane of mental consciousness. It is akin to rising above a thing and letting it pass beneath you.

This causes the swing of the pendulum to manifest on the lower plane, while the master is on the higher plane, thereby escaping the pendulum swing backward as it manifests on the unconscious lower plane. (Remember the master’s conscious mind is now on a higher plane).

greatness

To give you a few examples:

    1. Let’s say you are 5 years old and another child has taken the toy you were going to play with at school break. How crushing. You cry for 25 minutes.
  1. You are now 13 and your parent is picking you up from school in an outfit strikingly similar to yours. How mortifying! What will your friends think? It’s ruined your day and perhaps even your life at school.

Assuming you are now adults of various ages, the above 2 examples seem petty and insignificant, right?

That is because your ego, or understanding of self, has risen above this. You have risen above this.

Let’s try another example.

You start a business and it fails. Devastating. “Am I a failure? Who do I do? This can’t be happening!”

Now, let’s say you’ve started 15 businesses. 10 of which have failed and 5 succeeded. A failure is more like a lesson learned and moved past, not an identity with self (ego). Your mental and emotional response is completely different, now that you have a broader experience of starting 15 businesses as compared with the narrow experience of starting just 1 business.

In all cases, you, ego, has risen above.

So you, as a master, when faced with the failure of your first company, raise your ego above the situation and don’t let it affect you. Although you don’t have the experience of starting 15 companies yet, you have the knowledge that your perception can vary based on your understanding of self and situation.

So, you use your willpower to foster the mental thoughts of accomplishment — and give yourself credit for trying, for risking for learning.

Thoughts and feelings of you being a failure swing beneath you. You have risen above.
This takes practice, mental focus and willpower to achieve. Successful control in applying the Law of Neutralization is both simple and masterfully challenging.

Best of luck and success to you.

Beyond the Law of Attraction, Discovering the 12 Universal Laws & Using Them To Your Benefit

“The lips of wisdom are closed, except to the ears of understanding.” – The Kybalion

The moment the world was re-exposed to the Law of Attraction, it was taken and entranced by it. It profoundly changed the way we saw the universe and our place in it.

However, this is only the beginning of the Universal Laws. Once you discover, understand and use these laws to your benefit, you will hold the immense power of deliberate influence of the reality around you.

Let’s begin by defining the Law of Attraction.

“Simply put, the Law of Attraction is the ability to attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on.”

“It is believed that regardless of age, nationality or religious belief, we are all susceptible to the laws which govern the Universe – one of which being the Law of Attraction. It is the Law of Attraction which uses the power of the mind to translate whatever is in our thoughts and materialize them into reality. In basic terms, all thoughts turn into things eventually.”

Source: http://www.thelawofattraction.com/what-is-the-law-of-attraction/

There are 7-31 generally defined planes of existence or dimensions of reality. The exact number is debatable of course.

The planes of existence you know most well operate by these Universal Laws. They are the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual planes, respectively.

There are 7 Universal Laws of Principles defined in the book, The Kybalion.

There are 5 additional Universal Laws, which actually fall under the first 7. However, they are worth mentioning, as defining them promotes their understanding and application.

Also,

Notice the difference between mutable and immutable laws.

The first 3 principles defined in The Kybalion are immutable, meaning the are absolute and cannot be changed or transcended. Their existence has always been — and will always be.

The remaining 4 principles are mutable, meaning that they can be transcended through the practice of alchemy.

To transcend these laws, you must apply the law of the higher planes of existence on the law of the lower planes of existence.

For example, the mental and emotional planes of existence are higher than the physical.

Here they are. The 12 Universal Laws. Proceed with caution and responsibility, for the principles presented below are vastly powerful tools.

I. THE PRINCIPLE OF MENTALISM

“THE ALL is MIND; The Universe is Mental.” – The Kybalion.

What it is:

This Principle embodies the truth that “All is Mind.” All being defined as material, spiritual, mental, emotional, energetic existence is a mental CREATION of the ALL. It is subject to the laws of created things.

How it works for you:

When you are to understand this principle you realize that what you think you create and you can create with enough energy and consistency that the energy can condense enough to materialize into matter. What many people know as the law of attraction. This shows you can imagine anything you want and bring that into existence for you. You are not only the captain of your ship but the master of your universe.

II. THE PRINCIPLE OF CORRESPONDENCE

“As above, so below; as below, so above.” – The Kybalion

What it is:

This principle embodies the truth that there is always a correspondence between the laws and phenomena of the various planes of being and life. There exist various planes of existence, each with its own laws. When you understand how these work, you can apply this law to various planes. These planes are mental, spiritual, psychical, etc.

How it works for you:

When you understand how one world works, you can understand the ones above and below.

Examples:

  • Electrons and protons revolve around the nucleus in an atom = Planets revolve around the sun.
  • Blood flows through your body = rivers flow through the land.

Check out the images below of brain neurons (small scale), trees (medium scale), and a nebula (large scale) to see this principle represented.

neurons

trees-like-neuronsPhoto by Mikkel Schmidt.

crab_nebulaThe Crab Nebula used under Wikipedia Creative Commons Licence.

They all look alike. And they behave alike. When you find the differences and find the similarities, you will find the secrets of the universe. As above so below, as small so large.

Imagine this: Look up at the stars in the sky and look down at the sand on the beach. We will use the comparison of the sand on the beach to count the stars in the sky.

Notice the sand stretching for miles. Now, create a rough estimate of the number of individual grains of sand you see.

Now, add up all the grains of sand on all the beaches on this planet. Take that number and apply it to the stars above.

Quite a lot yes?

You are only beginning to grasp the magnitude of the universe.

Take the sand on all the planets in our universe, then apply that number to the stars. Take all the sand in the all the universes and apply that number to the stars.

We’re getting warmer.

Fun yeah?

Mind-blowing.

You can use this knowledge and information to understand the various “scales” of the universe by understanding the one on your “scale”.

III. THE PRINCIPLE OF VIBRATION

“Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates.” – The Kybalion.

What it is:

This Principle embodies the truth that “everything is in motion”; “everything vibrates”; “nothing is at rest”. These are facts which modern science endorses, and which each new scientific discovery tends to verify. We have studied matter closely and broken it down into molecules, into atoms, into electrons, protons, neutrons, photons, quarks, etc. until we arrived at energy. We realize that everything is energy and that energy is in motion. This corresponds with the law of “change” everything is changing. Everything is always moving, even when it appears motionless.

How it works for you:

When you realize that everything is perpetually in motion that means it can be changed moment to moment. Every moment you can decide what it can move to, vibrate to, transmute to. This presents to you — the creator — an enormous amount of control and power moment to moment, eternally.

IV. THE PRINCIPLE OF POLARITY

“Everything is Dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled.”
– The Kybalion.

What it is:

This principle embodies the truth that everything is dual, polar and has an opposite. We can know something by comparing it to something else. These “opposites” are varying degrees of the same thing, located on the same scale, on the same line.

Take hot and cold for example. At first assessment, these appear to be very far from each other — opposites in fact.

If you go from a hot tub into a pool, the pool feels cold. Now go from the pool to an ice tub. The pool is warm now! The ice tub is cold. You get the idea. Same goes for topics such as sharp and dull, high and low, etc.

How it works for you:

Once you understand that these “seemingly opposites” lie on the same line of a plane, the scale can be easily adjusted from, metaphorically speaking, left to right, right to left. Take hold and cold, and dull and sharp. You can slide from cold into hot, but you cannot slide from cold into sharp. That is a different line. You have the ability to transmute sadness to happiness. To go from scattered to focused.

Now that you understand how this works, you know you can take a scattered mind and create focus by adjusting the degree.

V. THE PRINCIPLE OF RHYTHM

“Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates.” – The Kybalion.

Rhythm

How it works for you:

This principle explains that what goes up must also come down, including your wealth, moods, success etc.

Understanding this principle is crucial to your perpetual success and balance.

The good news is that once you understand this principle you can also neutralize it. The Hermetists used this principle and also understood how to neutralize its’ effects.

They learned to apply the Mental Law of Neutralization and you can too. Half of the work of figuring out the law has already been done for you by the Hermetists. The other half is your own poise and execution. You cannot annul or fight the principle, but you can work around this principle by applying the laws on the higher planes of consciousness to this one to neutralize the swing.

VI. THE PRINCIPLE OF CAUSE & EFFECT

“Every Cause has its effect; every effect has its Cause; everything happens according to Law; Chance is but a name for Law not recognized; there are many planes of causation, but nothing escapes the Law.” – The Kybalion.

What it is:

This principle embodies the fact that there is a cause for every effect; an effect from every cause. It explains that: “Everything Happens according to Law”; that nothing ever “merely happens”. Nothing happens by chance or accident.

There are various planes of cause and effect in the dimensional planes of reality and the higher dominate the lower. However, there is no escaping the law, merely a strategic application of law upon law.

How it works for you:

You can understand this law as basic physics or karma, and yet there is much more than can be done in the application of this law. You can in effect, “rise above” this law and become a “causator” instead of an “effect” of it.

The vast majority of people who are unaware of these laws become “effects” of them without the realization of the causes that they create.

In order to rise above, you must use the rules of cause and effect that lie upon the higher planes — and therefore rule on the physical plane of existence. To do so, you employ a higher level of awareness of your moods, emotions, environments and tendencies. Is your will inspired by a state of emotion you are affected by or an emotion you are deciding upon?

VII. THE PRINCIPLE OF GENDER

“Gender is in everything; everything has its Masculine and Feminine Principles; Gender manifests on planes.” – The Kybalion

What it is:

The principle of gender embodies the truth that gender manifests in everything, in all phases of phenomena and every plane of life. Gender manifests on the physical plane as male and female, although this principle’s application is much broader. The word “gender” comes from the latin root, “to beget, to procreate, to generate, to create, to produce.”

Gender occurs on a sub-atomic level with negatively charged electrons (feminine) and positively charged protons (masculine). Gender also occurs on the mental level. The subconscious (feminine) and conscious (masculine) parts of the mind, along with the right (feminine) and left (masculine) hemispheres of the brain.

How it works for you:

The two energies of the feminine and masculine are attracted to each other and come together to create or produce something. The feminine is ready to receive energy from the masculine and nurture it, grow it. Then in turn, the masculine energy is ready to “Action it” and express it into the world.

When you learn to embrace the complementary power of these 2 energies you become much more effective at realizing your creativity and desires. You also embrace these energies within yourself in totality, becoming more balanced and whole.

The Additional 5 Laws of the Universe

Under the 7 principles defined in The Kybalion, there are 5 more “Laws of the Universe” that are worthwhile to outline in order to more effectively understand their applications.

VIII. The Law of Divine Oneness

Under The Principle of Mentalism & The Principle of Correspondence.

Everything is connected to everything else. Everything is mind. The mind is all.

IX. The Law of Action

Under the Principle of Gender & The Principle of Cause & Effect

In order to realize a manifestation our physical plane, the energy of action must be employed. We must engage in actions that support our thoughts dreams, emotions and words.

This law complements the Principle of Mentalism, because what begins in the mind can be acted upon to realize that mental creation in the physical plane using the masculine energy of action. This masculine energy of action follows and activates the principle of Cause & Effect.

“The possession of Knowledge, unless accompanied by a manifestation and expression in Action, is like the hoarding of precious metals — a vain and foolish thing.”

“Knowledge, like wealth, is intended for Use. The Law of use is Universal, and he who violates it suffers by reason of his conflict with natural forces.” – The Kybalion.

X. The Law of Compensation

Under the Principle of Cause & Effect

This Universal Law applies to blessings and abundance that are provided for us as the effects of our causes. These take the form of blessings, money, gifts, support, favors and more.

XI. The Law of Perpetual Transmutation of Energy

Under the Principle of Vibration

Everything is always in motion, and thus in perpetual change. Change is the nature of the universe. In order to flow with natural law, we either accept change as it occurs, or effect change with the Principle of Cause & Effect.

Trying to control an event, person or thing into stagnation and non-change violates this law and brings the change of death or dissolution. No new energy is introduced until the vibration dissolves that which was, also changing it, as nothing escapes the law.

Higher vibrations consume and transform lower ones, so true power over the lower is employed when this law is employed from the higher dimensions of existence; understood and applied.

XII. Law of Relativity

Under The Principle of Polarity

This law is an important one to keep in mind to gain a truer perspective of the reality around you.

Throughout your life, you will be rewarded and tested. This law reminds you to keep things in perspective as you may believe you are facing a colossal challenge, only to become aware of a situation which a friend is facing. Your friend’s challenge makes your challenge seem like just a “small bump in the road” by comparison.

All is relative.

This understanding restores your power, harbored in the understanding that the challenge may not be as insurmountable as it once seemed.

“All you judge is the comparison.” – Jacqueline, Creator of Consciousness Liberty
